This is the last move for Crude --shaping up just like the wheat trade!

maybe it is an oversimplification, but it seems to me with the rapid growth of china and other companies we're not producing anymore oil, so long term it will keep going up. houses can be built, real estate developed, and corn grown, but of course oil in non renewable...demand is only going to...

    Butterflies

Seem to work really damn well. Obviously a flat stock is ideal, but I bought and sold equal amounts of contracts on MA, only the ones i bought expired a month later. Even if the options i sold are exercised which they should be seeing as i did this before earnings i still end up up about 20%...

    Yet another gas/oil thread

I see. So you're telling me some idiot on the NYMEX sees an explosion in the middle east, concludes oil will go up b.c of lack of supply and therefor invests in it which pushes up the price per barrel and that effects how much it costs us to fill up?

    question

if you write a call or put can you and sell it, can you assign it to somebody else? example I write 10 july 25's and get 3,000 premium. Could i then pay somebody 3,000 (or more or less) and they then take on the risk associated with those calls?

help me out with this options strategy

Thanks for your info. It seems to me it all about the premium you get when selling the calls. I was looking at motorola the other day at the calls expiring in a month were only 50c cheaper than ones expiring in a year! obviously if you can get that kind of premium your much more likely to make a...

help me out with this options strategy

I dont know what its called, im sure other people have thought it before....but it seems pretty solid. here's a rough explanation: You first buy, say, $10,000 in calls with the expiration 6 months a year away give or take for lets say $10 each struck at $15 or $12.50. So thats 10 contracts...
