I think the stuff Db's talking about is about as elemental, tried-and-true basic TA as you can get. The principles are so straightforward that they seem to lend themselves to making strict mechanical rules, but this is somewhat illusory and that's where it seems to get "complicated"...

When you say "filled", do you mean filled on a tradable first swing, or just filled eventually that day? You don't need to reply, it's just a question to provoke thought. After all, in the context of this thread at least, what's relevant is not just whether the gap ultimately fills, but...
