    IB new forex spreads

It is just the same...You do not "talk" in pairs because you are just moving budgets...so in both cases you will have a CAD-budget (- or +) and a JPY-budget (+ or -)...and both budgets (or exposures) will have their own interest-haircuts.

    IB Lowers Futures Commissions

If you are a swing trader you should take BUNDLED fees instead.

The Ultimate Trading Platform...what would it look like?

I know traders who did that (leave IB and ButtonTrader) and went for another Broker with TM...But after 6 months the came back... When I asked the reason they told me: "costs and functionality".. Just to show you the other side of the picture.

The Ultimate Trading Platform...what would it look like?

@Runningbear, Nice spec's.....to build a system like that will take $$$ and years of time... What would be the "ultimate-price" for the users be?

Yes.....just try to request a chart in TWS...for every ticker that gives a chart..there is backfill as well (it is simply one and the same).

    IB Lowers Futures Commissions

Yep seems so.... When you do no overnight-trading (which will kill you in fees by adding $0.10 per night) it is in all cases MUCH better to take the Unbundled fees: ES, ER2, NQ = 2.36 (instead of 2.40) EUR = 2.82 (instead of 3.00) ZN, ZB = 1.72 (instead of 1.73) YM = 2.12 (instead...

    IB new forex spreads

I just looked and it was wobbling between 2 and 3. Remember that the actual spread, that we all see, is a "displacement" between the MarketMakers, which are quoting on IDEALPRO. This model gives very narrow spreads to us when the MMs have a "different-view" of the actual spot-price. Say...

    IB new forex spreads

Yep of course (we can only dream of real volume like that). The Max levels are not really bothering me. A 5mln trade needs a $100.000 Margin with 50:1 (not many are playing with that). And you can easily enter 2 or more trades of 5mln at the same moment. With more than 20mln at Bid/Ask it...

    IB new forex spreads

Great news..It looks that DeutschBank is quoting on IDEALPRO from this day on...they insert 15 Mio at Bid and Ask in EUR/USD (and also all other majors are clearly showing more volume). This has immediately a narrowing effect on the spread, because I can see 1 pip again (from time to time) in...

suggestion on Book trader in IB

I can only agree with def. ButtonTrader is offered exclusively to IB-users (so no competition). And both systems TWS and ButtonTrader are used as one environment using features of both systems at the same time as if it were one integrated system. So traders use TWS to trade some Options and...

Trading Platform that can handle ETF's

Well, you can with IB (and TWS), but when you really want to scalp then you might look at ButtonTrader (sorry I'm biased )... just look at the Video-tutorials at our WebSite and you might find what you need.

Trading Platform that can handle ETF's

This will happen with streaming-data vendors...That's why I love IB because they use snapshot-data-feed, which always can follow the market (even when greenspan sneezes it is possible to scalp).

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

You can use ButtonTrader for this, it has the Touch-logic and additionally a timer to postpone the change in a Market-Order a bit (user defineable timer). There is an example of this in the tutorial-Video's: http://www.buttontrader.com/swf/ButtonTrader_Videos.html

    AMD 64 X2 3800 for multitask trading

I have to disagree as well. There are more multi threading apps then you think. ButtonTrader is for sure, and I'm practically sure that even TWS from IB is multi threading.
