Why Jesse Livermore never managed others' money?

I don't think he failed due to not knowing the concept of portfolio rebalancing.. or anything like that... The great ones just wanna make it more fun..... I know I do... Sometimes, its more fun to see if I can make a horrible trade after I make a series of winning trades. You get more...

    Secrets of the Temple >>>

Hey.. I agree with your disagree. But, I disagree with your claim as to why it is false. I would say it depends on your experience, and the robustness of your system. I wouldn't recommend trading without a stop to a novice, nor someone that is marginally breakeven.

    Secrets of the Temple >>>

romik, you're right. Because it has to come down to the individual trader as to what he is comfortable with. I think, it is those who are a little more risk averse that prefer to have a hard stop. I think, if you really want to swing for the fences, I think you need to have a system that...

    Secrets of the Temple >>>

Having pre-set stops on single trades. Because lets face it.. half of it is noise and there is a higher probability that you're going to get stopped out on any single trade. Know where the market could be headed and guard your position. Not having a STOP works out to the best on those...

You can't generate positive alpha without a PhD.

The Trader where in my youth, and as a small time money manager, I was suckered into doing a Documentary on the Futures markets. I was told that it was an easy way to make high profile contacts, and to raise a lot more money to manage than the $100 million that I was already managing then...
