Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I think that I missed an important point of your question. If your order is ACTIVE in the pre-market (outside of RTH), it has been my experience that it will remain on an ECN until after the opening cross has occurred.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Unfortunately, it will NOT participate in the opening cross. I just got burned again yesterday on this one. I had placed a SMART GTC order to sell an illiquid Nasdaq stock using TWS the day before yesterday. Yesterday, the stock traded 1800 shares at $9.72 per share. My sell order was at $9.67...

Not even the top of book for ARCA without paying

eusdaiki, am I missing the point or is the proposed fee schedule for Single Book / TotalView on that same link that you have provided? I have copied it below. =========================== User Fee Structure NASDAQ has proposed the following Single Book Consolidated User Fee schedule...

Not even the top of book for ARCA without paying

I stopped getting ARCA quotes on IB. In fact, my ARCA routed order was the inside bid/ask a number of times and my limit price wasn't even reflected in the SMART quote. I've been considering the SMART quote to be representative of the NBBO. I submitted an inquiry ticket to IB. They verified...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

That sounds great to me. I didn't have luck getting IB support to even understand the "suggestion" to have SMART routed NASDAQ limit orders participate in the opening cross and remain active if they were not filled at the open. I guess that my inquiry ticket ended up with the wrong person...

Not even the top of book for ARCA without paying

I agree that not getting a valid inside quote without paying for ARCA book is definitely a step backwards for market transparency. I subscribed to ARCA book and didn't get data. So, I restarted TWC... still nothing. I went through the motions of subscribing again. ARCA book was already...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I'll try to relay what I saw happen today. I'm playing with too many parameters at once. So, hopefully I got it right. When I placed a DAY order with RTH selected last night, I got a warning dialog from TWS that the order would not be submitted until after 9:30:00 AM. I thought that was...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

What he said... Bravo fbell50! Well said. I agree wholeheartedly. That is just what I need too. I would like to see IB implement Full RTH Limits for Nasdaq stocks which includes the opening cross. The use of the Pre-open re-route capability applied to Nasdaq stocks would be a good way to...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I want minimal exposure outside of RTH. I always use limit orders. So, I get my price... but getting a fill of 6 shares was enough to convince me not to trade outside RTH. The few traders who are postings orders outside of RTH on my stocks seem to have commissions built into their limit prices...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

IB support has solved the pre-open re-route problem for my AMEX stocks. They went back and forth with me a few times till they got the bug ironed out. I was pleased with the efforts that they made and the communications while solving the problem. Unfortunately, due to AMEX rules, I'm unable...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Thanks for the insight. It seems that I need to consider market opens and other (sometimes wildly) mispriced prints unavailable to me... at least not on AMEX. Perhaps I can still get some less profitable fills when there is a trade at the market open if I can get the re-route option working. IB...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I realize that you're AMEX bashing, but... Are you serious or just kidding? If you're serious, would you explain?

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Alanm, Thanks for taking an interest in my situation. Although today's orders weren't re-routed as a result of my use of the pre-open re-route option, I didn't miss any opportunities "today" to provide an example. So, here is an example of one of my recent missed opportunities as a result of...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I submitted all my 14 orders for AMEX listed stocks with a GAT of 9:25 AM today. As expected, they became active and were routed to ISLAND on time. They were NOT rerouted to AMEX prior to 9:30 AM as I hoped even though I checked the Pre-open re-route option. Nine of the orders were routed to...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I selected the "pre-open re-route" option in the Smart routing configuration. I unchecked the RTH only box on all my orders. I set my orders to activate at 9:29 AM and to cancel at 4:00 PM. I placed all of my orders last night. The orders activated at 9:29 AM and were all routed to ISLAND...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

I'm facing the same problem. I am swing trading very low liquidity stocks. An opening trade is sometimes the only trade in some of these stocks for days. I've missed too many market open executions. I missed another one today. My limit price was better than the opening price and I should have...
