Has anyone turned 5 figures into 7-8 in a few years?

Bad examples! Dan Zanger => Luck. In the right place at the right time. Tim Syke => Fraud. There are numerous super traders with audited accounts ! PTJ, Soros, Ed. Seykota, Marty Schwartz, Larry Williams, Vic Sperandeo, Peter Brandt, Jim Chanos, Louis Bacon, Stan Druckenmiller, Michael Marcus...

    Markets top imminent, or "melt-up"?

For sure, even if we are close to the top, we will have months and months to sell / short the market. It is never a buying or selling opportunity but rather periods of buying or selling opportunity. On a ST basis, right now I think there are nice short opportunities, you just have to wait...

It would take an ‘immaculate conception’ to create bear market in stocks right now: analyst

IMO, true and false. Of course, TA helps to show trends, supports and resistances. But TA helps too for elaborating scenarios and predicting "credible" targets. Why? Because history repeats. For example, DJ Transport today, bear scenario and assuming we will face a correction close to July and...

It would take an ‘immaculate conception’ to create bear market in stocks right now: analyst

If ifs and buts were candies and nuts... The only certainty : as always, markets will react before war / recession and rebound before the end CM

    QCOM

I see, thanks. QCOM is weak in an uprising sector. Worse than I expected... Red flag. CM

    QCOM

Self-criticism ? There is a long road before you understand what a trend is. There ain't any trading range when a stock makes new lows lower and new highs lower. QCOM is in a bear trend for the last year. You don't have to get a Phd in price action to understand that. So expect a new low below...

    QCOM

Interesting post. What i meant is that when everyone is focused on GAFA, other big tech names are disavantaged. GAFA are overbought, and overbuy leads to overbuy. You should be really strong in order to attract buyers. As you mentioned, Qualcomm is fundamentally weak, which doesn't help here. CM

    QCOM

Is there a Q in "GAFA" ? Nope Today, GAFA is trendy, Qualcomm not. Same story with Apple and Nokia. One man's meat is another man's poison. So expect a wake up of Qualcomm when people would be bored of GAFA... Can take months, even years. CM

Look like ET could not keep many old members actively posting anymore. Why?

Actually, I find the game quite easier today than 10 years ago. Maybe I am better ? Surely software and my BBG are significantly better ? But I can understand some traders can't find clue with these new rules CM

Look like ET could not keep many old members actively posting anymore. Why?

Some are already dead or too old. Some have found answers they were looking for and don't want to share anymore. But the truth is that there are more and more noobs, naysayers, trolls, liars, mytho... So real traders wants to throw in the towel, for example AutoDidakt, NoDoji, IAmNobody... CM

    Reward! HLF

Why coming? This is already a short squeeze right now lol 23% of the market cap is shorted... and +30% in 2 weeks is not enough ? 100 dollars by year end... Maybe but odds are equal for 50 dollars by year end. Because HLF would stay a good short if price doesn't make a new high (83.80 dollars). CM

    $EURUSD

Maybe a graph can help to see the big picture. Long on a ST basis => 1.19 first target. Short between 1.19 / 1.20 Hold short if 1.1660 breaks, take profit if 1.1660 / 1.1670 holds. Go long again. CM

What are the questions you ask yourself in order to eliminate false positives?

It seems majority of people here trade with one single signal, "BUY or SELL" lol. Fine if it works for them, but i consider markets and trading quite more complex than just buy when one signal tells to do it. We are not robots, thanks God we got a brain, gut feeling and market experience that no...

What are the questions you ask yourself in order to eliminate false positives?

Sorry but I won't spend my time explaining basics such as being selective with your trades, not taking every signal, choosing the best stocks / assets with the strongest signals and skipping the weakest signals, searching for convergence / divergence between your signals etc. Of course, there is...

Buying AMZN and shorting CAT today (10/4/2017)

Now ? Hajimadow shorts CAT and strong stocks for months / years. But Hajimadow doesn't trade real money, you know? As Madoff CM

What are the questions you ask yourself in order to eliminate false positives?

You mean Mark Weinstein with "n"? If you consider this quote "out of context" when I am talking about patience and timing in trading, fine. Maybe others would find some analogy. CM

What are the questions you ask yourself in order to eliminate false positives?

In a perfect world with a perfect model, yes. But in the real world, a signal is a signal, nothing more, nothing less. If you take every trade when you got a positive signal, you ll be broke fast. You need confirmation. For example, if you trade breakouts, and a stock makes a new high, should...

    Losing days

Really, I don't understand your goal here. You better focus on your edge / competitive advantage rather than try to measure how deep you can go. Because you can go deeper and deeper if you don't break this vicious circle. Success is achieved by developing our strengths, not by eliminating our...

What are the questions you ask yourself in order to eliminate false positives?

The question you need to ask yourself is : why now and not later ? You can be a scalper, a day trader, a swing trader : 9 times out of ten, timing is not adequate. Patience is key. CM
