    We have topped!

Lol. New all-time highs, round number (2200) and at the same time low volume and low relative strength? No weaknesses? Really? On a short term basis (less than one month), probabilities are high S&P would face at least a 5% correction, maybe 10%. And maybe we are "at the top", maybe not. Who...

    Harley

You are a joke. HOG +9% and new highs since your last reco to short it. CM

    We have topped!

Why not ? I agree it makes no sense to anticipate the fall, but one of the best time to take profit or short is when you reach new highs with weak volumes and low strength. This was indeed the case yesterday, and in August too (former historical high). CM

Hilarious, now higher rates are positive for stocks ??

Bullish for commodity and emerging markets stocks, not S&P500 neither Nasdaq. Energy & materials are 10% of the S&P. 0% for the Nasdaq. Thas was another story during former economic cycles because commodity sectors could represent more than 30% of the index. CM

Can gamification train a new trader?

I never heard about "Gamification", but if you mean there are some links between video game and modern trading, the answer is definitly yes. Most famous example is "CIS", who was an ULTIMA (nolife videogame) pro gamer before making hundreds of millions...

Can you actually be short on the market?

You are right, but there were heavy volumes yesterday and today in banks, healthcare and biotech... You got already lots of bag holders. Beware, that smells bull trap ! CM

    Russian ruble

That makes sense. But I would rather buy an ETF Russian stocks (or bonds) in dollars rather than buying rubles only. ETF will manage forex for you (ruble is difficult to trade). CM

    NFLX

I just smile looking at your first post and thinking about: Netflix was down -33% after your nice post. I speculate Netflix is a superb BUY if you recommend to short it NOW. Thanks for your insight. CM

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

Traders who know how markets and stocks work would say : not really far. For the coming months, NFLX will outperform the market. This is a darling. During the last two weeks, internet stocks are falling : EBAY (-15%), BABA (-12%), FB (-10%), AMZN (-10%), except Netflix with a little -6% (vs...

Thoughts on $FB and $BABA earnings?

The market behaves like humans. If you understand basic psychology, aka fear, hope & greed, this may seem more "logical" to you. CM

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

Why don't I like these kind of trades? (aka "mean-reversion"). Of course, a stock like DB which was heavily oversold was close to a strong rebound. It was tempting to buy this weak thing. You did it, you made +10%, that was a correct reward. But with high risks, because you could have lost -10%...

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

I know I know, and you will see : this is a bull trap. Insiders bought the stock before earnings report because they already get the numbers. But now? Buy the rumor sell the news. You got the news, guess what will happen ? Definitly I prefer being short DB than Netflix :) CM

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

Ok, Roberto Moreno thinks this is the "ultimate short strategy". The major problem is that lots of people think the same. Short Interests are high. So not so contrarian. And even if Nasdaq goes down, Netflix could (I said could, I don't have a crystal ball) make new highs, because people are...

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

Ahah you are right. A falling EUR (at the moment) is a malus for ex-Euro investors. Buy emerging stocks :) . Double appreciation, double win. CM

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

Yes, I understand what you are saying. I wrote 3 months ago Netflix was a BUY. +40% since then. I think I know what is a good call, right? Brazil Stocks : BUY 8 months ago. +70% since then. Short Biotech sector last year. -40%. Short Valeant this year. -20%. Etc etc. Reread my older posts if you...

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

Of course for investing, but trading too. This is called trend following. But there are many ways to skin the cat. Understand and follow the trend is one of the best to make money, as a trader or an investor. I assume you don't understand what is a trend when you want to short Netflix after a...

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

SimpleTrades, I made a correct assumption. I know what is the DB ticker, it is my job. And I understood you bought two weeks ago, fine +10% (amazing). A winning trade, but an ugly trade. Buying an ugly stock at the 2/3rd of a countertrend in a massive downtrend is at best pure luck, which was...

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

Lol. Do you know what means Right now???? DB quoted 12.6 @5:01 CET. This was 'Right now a nice short @12.5/13'. Even a child would understand that. Boy, give me a break and play Pokemon Go, easier for you. CM

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

If you want to be a little credible here, you better learn to read chronologically a thread ! My first post (FYI #26 ) about Netflix and DB was written @11:01 CET or @5:01 NYT .... DB quote was 12.6 EUR at that time. So YES, US markets were closed :wtf:. CM
  20. Chris Mac

    NETFLIX: Short Sell

I wrote my post this morning here, and as far as I know, US markets were closed???? So it was obvious DB currency was in EURO, not in dollars. Give me a break, seriously. CM
