A FOK order placed 2 to 3 minutes before the open is not the same thing as an "opening only" Limit-on-open order. Trade triggers won't help you either if you want to place a true Limit-on-Open order. A "market-on-open" could be achieved by placing a regular DAY market order up to a few minutes...

I also experienced similar issues when i tried it out about 4 or 5 months ago..also the opening trade was not really being simulated properly at that time..i had high hopes initially but was a little disappointed..would be interested in hearing more positive experiences from more recent users...

Isn't it true that price action in the first 5 minutes can be quite wild and therefore can create a big discrepancy for you if you wait for the option spreads to narrow? For those who trade options, what is the typical spread on QQQQ deep in the money calls right at the opening bell?

An additional serious problem is that IB's "shortable stock list" is not updated in realtime, and so you might see a stock you want to short on the list, but when you actually try to short it in TWS, you get an error message saying its unshortable. Bottomline, IB's short list is not...

I'm looking for a data service that provides 1-minute bar data (OHLCV) for stocks on a continuous realtime basis. Looking for clean data and an easy interface (ie i can get the data with a simple HTTP request). Any recommendations?
