SaxoBank has some features I wanted, can't remember what now though, but I couldn't justify moving to Saxo because of the cost. Would have cost me 2 to 3k a year in charges if I remember right. Not sure why Saxo charges so much and with no way to reduce costs by regular trading. Execution speed...

That info looks out of date, it's currently £8 for a UK trade, but drops to £3 if you trade more than twice in the previous month. Then US trades also become free if you've done those 3 trades in the previous month too.

It does, in the Share Dealing account. They have many account types Share Dealing CFD Spread Betting and more.

You wouldn't own any stock in the CFD account, I just meant CFDs on listed companies to be clearer sorry. I don't trade CFDs either, though I'm considering using it to short if the whole market turns bearish after lockdown.

Just tried a 1 share dummy quote for Apple Inc, looks like no commission for US stocks. UK is £3. Tried the same for Continental AG there, gave me a 10 Euro Charge. Ouch, bit pricey to trade the German exchange from IG.

Yes I can trade US stocks, but I can't get a direct market quote for equities, would have to be a limit or market order. Can trade quickly in their CFD account though. Still a bit unhappy with the situation. Really isn't anything fully featured in the UK, with a modern UI and decent prices...

Alright checking it out again, maybe was a cookie issue on my browser! I have that TWS application downloaded in paper trading mode. Doesn't show stocks like ODX on FTSE AIM though. Do they not do AIM on IB?

Oh yes that could work, I trade shares with IG at the moment, and I could just use the PRT features and not actually trade from it. That's looking like my best option. Just need to poke around PRT's packages, maybe see if there's a trial for premium or whatever. Cheers, getting somewhere here!

Cheers, just been back to check PRT, but I think I know why I've discounted it too. It's CFD, looks like I can't trade regular equities on it. I tend to shy away from CFDs. Shame, platform looks solid.
