I would never be so stupid as to trade that many contracts of anything to amount to that kind of money on the line in one trade. I prefer more frequent lower-amount distributions from my broker over big-money distributions less often. Just easier to deny the emotions when a losing day comes...

Numerous red flags in your post. #1 is trading with emotion. #2 is trading with money you cannot afford to lose (your family is right, you are gambling, which is addicting). You are obviously emotionally disturbed (I don't mean clinically) by losing money, as shown in your relationships...

I bailed on further formal education when I decided to just make money and not manage other people's money and BS. It worked. I know more series 3 people out of work or broke than homeless bums downtown.

Explain please why you would work for a broker. For money? You will never get wealthy working for someone else. For stability? Brokers fire traders for no reason. For prestige? How much prestige is there in working for someone because you couldn't make it as an independent? Not trying to...

I have kept an account with them since 1998, opened with $5k and immediately withdrew $4k since I only needed $1k to trade what I liked. I am not surprised to hear they raised the minimum opening deposit requirement, and would not be surprised if they simply raised all new account deposit...

IB and customer service are contradictions in terms.
