    Looking for a successfull trader

A condescending beggar? WTF? Anyone who's put in the work to craft a working system doesn't share it with friends much less anonymous beggars on bulletin boards. If I was convinced my system could make another 75k, I'd be making another 75k. WTF do I need you for? If you aren't willing...

    Former Nasdaq chairman arrested ---

When putting together a $50 billion fraud you'd hope they could catch it year 1. Our tax dollars at work...accomplishing nothing.

Any good book or resources on how to create and manage your own (small) hedge fund

You'll also need a time machine so you can go back in time when there were enough dopes who wanted to invest in hedge funds that you could easily gather up capital.

Liberals and Unions ruined American Business

Although the liberals and the unions might have done us in at some point, this meltdown was all about leverage and liquidity neither of which were caused by who you're blaming.

    I voted for ..... because....

We're going from Socialism for the Rich to Socialism for the Poor. The upside is that the Republicans may get their heads out of their asses and start pushing small gov't again instead of stupid shit like stopping gay marriage and teaching creationism. Alternatively, the Repblicans could cease...

    The ULTIMATE FADE EVER! GUARANTEED!!!

Not really a fade. She's been predicting a 15% rally over the next 12 months for at least 15 years. If she ever gets bearish that's the bottom but like a kid's wind-up toy, she's only capable a limited set of actions (none of which remotely resembles a bearish or even cautious call.)

    Goog and Java

Java has pretty much always been free even before it was open source. I'm not sure if it's still true, but the saying at SUNW was that IBM made far more money off of Java than SUNW ever did. I'm not sure why anyone would want to buy SUNW. They ceased to be relevant the day linux was...

Is anyone disabling there system during this market?

You should porbably know or be able to figure out what trades have the most risk relative to the others. When the market gets crazy like this you can disable riskiest trades and keep the system going.

    WM butchered after hours.

Since no one can short it there probably won't be the usual short squeezes that drag these losers stocks back up to $.50 or so. It will be interesting to see how this things trades with no shorting.

Will US turn to be a socialist country ?

We've been headed that way for a long time. I'm not sure who's quote it is, but someone said something along the lines of: Once democracies figure out they can vote themselves all the benefits they want, they do, you end up with socialism for a short while before the whole thing goes bankrupt...

Quick question: 24" widscreen display height?

I have a 2407fp in between two 2001fps. The screen is about 1/2 inch taller than the other monitors but until I read post I hadn't noticed in about 2 years. (I do remember it annoying my for the first night or so.) It's not a big deal.

Need push in right C++ direction

I can only guess you're one of the 12 people on the planet whose primary language is C# and I've somehow insulted you. I'm not quite sure what part of my post you interpret as fiction. C# is 4-5 years younger than Java and all if it's major changes over C++ are straight from the Java spec...

Need push in right C++ direction

I'm really suprised there aren't more people pimping Java here. C# is MSFT's C++ like ripoff of Java. It's ok but do you really want to bind yourself to MSFT? Aside from making Win2k/XP (they're first and with Vista I guess only OS that isn't a disgrace) have they done anything of note in the...

Got System Cocked, Where Do I Shoot?

TraderZones is right. In essentially zero cases will anyone sell/share a working system. If you'd done all the work necessary to make a solid system you wouldn't be so willing to part with it. If it worked, was forward tested with real money and still preforming well, you probably wouldn't...

    'The Perfect Economic Storm'

Perfect storm = 2 low probability events combining to cause mass chaos. What we have is the high probability outcome for the following setup: Idiot Greenspan tried to inflate his way out of a tech bust and blew a housing bubble causing a massive misallocation of capital in the process. Such...

    Dell D9200/XPS 410, C2D, 2.13Ghz, 2G RAM, XP, + extras... $395

I always get annoyed when people try to sell used pc's and brand new pc prices... http://www.techbargains.com/news_displayItem.cfm/128095 The $449 option with a $40 processor upgrade is a slightly better *NEW* (with a meaningless 1 yr warranty) machine with a 20" monitor for $90 more...

    Any experience with Systematic Signals??

If a system has drawdowns of more than 5-10% it's probably not very good. The real test is designing a system that doesn't have significant drawdowns and still makes a good return. That is in fact SO difficult.

    Any experience with Systematic Signals??

No opinions and I'm not sure $500k+ is the lower bound (btw that's how much you pay to acquire the system not how much it trades.)
