    Futures Options on GBP/USD

I have a question about the FOP on the GBP/USD. I looked at a March 2018 future. GBX put @ 1.2800 is $0.0293. The multiplier for the future is 62,500. Does this mean that one FOP contract costs 62,500 * 0.0293 = $1,831.25. I know that futures have neither strike nor time decay. The last for GBP...

    Question about Options Market Data

So OPRA only gives me access to the best bid/ask for an equity option? If I want to see all exchanges I need to subscribe separately to ISE, NASDAQ, NYSE Arca, and NYSE Amex options (L2)?

    Capital Gains Question

I could have been confused, but I could have sworn that I chatted with someone from IB and they told me they did not report my trades to the IRS. I can't imagine the feasibility of say, TDAmeritrade reporting every trade of every customer (7 million) no matter how small the amount to the IRS. ???

    Capital Gains Question

I do not necessarily need it. I should have pointed that xandman did not seem to understand--the point of a hypothetical. The mention of food stamps was pointless. Capital gains in not 30%. I have someone that does my corporate taxes already. I should have pointed out that this is for a C-corp...

What happens to my shares when the company is purchased by another company?

I think that old adage, "love what you do" is overplayed. I will like it if it makes money. The world does not run on love and pixie dust. Social policies have to be funded by fiscal policies. You cannot social welfare programs without the money to support them. At the microcosmic level, you...

What happens to my shares when the company is purchased by another company?

Thank you for your time. I actually understand the private equity side more the public offering side. I suppose I know the how, I just do not understand the why. The why gets very murky. I have read several books on the subject, but they do not scratch the surface of what I am looking for...

What happens to my shares when the company is purchased by another company?

That makes sense. Thanks I know someone who sits on the board for company XYZ. When he buys shares is it different than me. He owns common stocks, not preferred stock in XYZ. He thinks they might be purchased at a significantly higher price. He owns 5% of the company. The company is not...

What happens to my shares when the company is purchased by another company?

Thank you. So, if it was an all cash purchase, my shares would be cashed out at the agreed upon price? Are the shares converted based upon par value of Merrill Lynch? Xela said that my position would not automatically be closed out. If I had $10,000 at $40/share and they offered $80/share in...

What happens to my shares when the company is purchased by another company?

What happens to my shares when the company is purchased by another company? I am not necessarily concerned with the price. Hypothetical: I have invested in a bank. Its shares are trading at $40. Say that I have a suspicion that the bank will be bought out by another bigger bank, hoping to buy...

    Interactive Brokers - Trading Permissions

I have trading permissions for countries in Europe, Asia and the US. I wanted to test out a strategy in their demo platform with Norwegian equities. It told me that I did not have the trading permissions in the demo platform. This is strange because I do have trading permissions for Norway in my...
