As an EW newb, I was guessing that we are beginning wave V down. I'm guessing we'll get a retracement up for a wave 2 then take out the old lows in wave 3 or 5 of V.

Thanks Ed. So do you think we have begun wave 1 down of V, or are we still in wave IV? Or, are there a couple of possibilities and it is still unclear?

Where do you guys think we are in the larger pattern in the SPY? If 10/07 was the start of 5 legs down, with 1/08 or 3/08 being I, and 5/08 being II, was 11/08 III or V? If it was III, do you think IV is over? Thanks. I'm not an Elliott Wave regular and the majority of the posts here...

No trial version. They say it is a tech support issue. Too many people to give quality support to which would take away from paid user support. If you buy it, you can return it within 30 days for a $75 re-stocking fee.

    TradersStudio Thread

Hi Murray, I recently purchased TS 2.5. I haven't activated it yet because I'm trying to figure out whether I'll be able to grasp all of the programming. Do you get the 'code wizzard' after you activate the product? Is the 'source level de-bugger' the same thing as the 'check...

What is the point of a prop firm?

I don't understand prop firms. The only benefits I can see are: 1 a structured office environment 2 a group of like minded people sharing ideas (synergy) Do they really 'teach' you to trade? And, if you can already trade, why would you want to give a cut (with some firms it looks like...

    Which backtesting software to learn?

Thanks Bill. I agree with you. My general philosophy is to start with a logical concept that I think will provide an edge, look for examples that prove there is an edge, look for false positives, and if you think it will still work, then computerize it. The computer would aid in applying...

    stock market school

www.tradingacademy.com has a good basic stock program. 7 days. 5000 bucks. You'll get an overview, but, you won't come out of there trading well. It takes practice.

    Which backtesting software to learn?

I want to create end of day strategies on stocks and ETFs initially (futures as my account grows). I have no programming experience, but I am willing to learn as long as I can get my ideas into code and test them. It appears from ET searches that Trader Studio, Trading Blox, and Mechanica...

    For anyone that defends Cramer.....

His hedge fund results speak for themselves. Although, if you read 'Trading with the Enemy', you will come to find that he ran that fund as a true blue, short term trader and not as the investor he has now chosen to be. If you are a trader, you'd be a fool to follow his advice. If you are...

How to calculate SSO to S&P relationship?

That is an interesting and informative article, but it doesn't address the question of the 'Daily Double'. Show em what they've won Alex! http://seekingalpha.com/article/35789-the-case-against-leveraged-etfs

How to calculate SSO to S&P relationship?

This doesn't answer the original question, but here is an example for the simple folks like me :) Numbers are hypothetical, but illustrate how the SSO works. Let's assume that the day you go long, they are trading at: SPY 120.00 SSO 60.00 The SSO tries to have twice the daily...

    Stock price v. option price

Thanks guys. Sounds like I have a litlle more planning to do. I know time will decay my value, but I figured that the option would be fairly in the money and this would be less of an issue. Maybe I'll start with one contract on a cheap stock and experiment. If my stock price gets hit, I'll...

    Stock price v. option price

Hey there. I'm pretty new to options and some questions. I want to use in the money equity options in order not to tie up as much capital as buying the stock. If I decide a stock is going to do something, how do I know if I'm getting a fair deal on the option? Do you ever use market...

    Quitting Trading

I read the first 12 pages and skipped to here, so I'm sorry if I repeated anything. Are you still reading this post? I'll offer my advice, but I'll preface it. I am a losing trader. I have been at this for 4 years. I have invested, swing traded, day traded, trend traded, counter-trend...

Ed, I was thinking the same as you with an ending diagonal to make a C. Should each leg of the internal structure of the C (a,b,c,d,e) form five waves?
