    Alternatives to Bloomberg Briefs

I like them, but I would like to know if there is an alternative to news presented in this format (nicely consolidated). Preferably cheaper or free if there is such a thing. Thank you.

    23% Annual Returns

Getting 23% is very easy. Getting 23% average every year over a 3 year period (especially, say, 2012-2015) is also very easy. -- Market conditions were ideal, you could just throw money in and I would go up. Getting 23% average every year over a 20 year period is... difficult.. (unheard of?)...

    Prop Trading without Day Trading?

Yup, It seems Prop Firms are (mostly) not my cup of tea. I have money and I trade long term. I suppose the types of Prop Firms that would be of interest to me would be more of a division within a bank/financial institution/hedge fund/etc. and as an employee. Thanks for the clarification all!

    Prop Trading without Day Trading?

So in general there seem to be two types of Prop Firms: 1) Self-funded prop-firms which are typically used by individuals with a small amount of personal capital in the hopes of building up a sizeable net worth. 2) Being an employee of a larger organization where they are paid a salary...

    Prop Trading without Day Trading?

Hello all, I'm not a Day Trader, nor do my interests lie there. I have my own assets (over 100k which seems to be a guideline here in the forums to be self invested). However, I thought doing some Prop Trading might be 'fun' (or a good learning experience). Are there prop trading firms that...

Searching for Non-IB Non-US Based Broker

Nope, not needed (I use IB for all that).

Searching for Non-IB Non-US Based Broker

Hehe. No, not Anti-USA in that sense. Just want to avoid financial ties to the US as that is sometimes an issue when dealing with non-USA Banks. And I'm not a scalper, I just like the freedom of knowing my commissions & fees are so low I don't have to factor them into the bulk of my trades...

Searching for Non-IB Non-US Based Broker

I did a lot of googling and have filtered down some brokers/etc. The challenging part is finding one with good commissions and is respected. Thought I would ask here as one final 'check' in case I missed something :) I'll have to give CorbaTrading a miss as it's in the US (the criteria is...

Searching for Non-IB Non-US Based Broker

Don't need Margin, not bothered where the clearing broker is. I'm simply attempting to minimize ties with the US, not worried beyond that.

Searching for Non-IB Non-US Based Broker

Hello, I'm presently with IB and quite pleased with them, but I wish to diversify my holdings across multiple brokers. I am looking for a non-US based broker that accepts non-US clients, deals in US Equities and Options. And, I'm looking for someone who has LOW commission rates in the range...

Noob question about wide bid/ask spread

Perhaps the next question here would then be: How do you become a market maker.

Why not always invest in Deep In The Money / Delta 1 Options?

Some awesome feedback here. Just to touch a few points: Intrinsic/Extrinsic: If we are going with options that have a delta value of 1 there should be no cost for buying the option (granted usually it hovers around .96 -.98 but sometimes you can get options at 1.0). Expiring Worthless: The...

Why not always invest in Deep In The Money / Delta 1 Options?

Deep In The Money (DITM) Call Options with a Delta 1 (or very close): Why not always do this instead of buying the stock directly? There is the downside: 1) You own an option not stock, so no voting rights. 2) You likewise do not get dividends. 3) The contract price is too high (100x a position...
