    Conditional Cell Formatting in Excel

Thanks for the link. I've run into the same limitations as FT71. I was thinking that you might be able to use a pivot table to break down the criteria and then add conditional formats but it doesn't appear that it's doable. I haven't been able to figure it out anyway...

take a look at this spread sheet. is this what you wanted? I assume that you are back testing a strategy? Note: on the sheet you posted the position column had little green corner tabs, excel recognized them as text not a number value. I changed them but going forward you will need to...

I've met Michael Williams a few time through a friend that used to trade with him. He's very impressive but the full course runs a couple thousand dollars. That's alot of money to spend when you're just "interested in trading options", if you're trading for a living that's a different story...

    Calculating results in Excel

is the daily result column A or C. I thought A was the daily change. Are you saying you want to track the days you were right on market direction? long on up days and short on down days? If this is the case, why is C equal to the entire daily change? Are you in your position from open to...

    Calculating results in Excel

I guess I'm not following you. Are you saying it's not cumulative? "If the daily result is negative and I was short the result of the trade should be positive." So, if A is negative and B is "SHORT" then C becomes positive? What would make C negative? here's a formula for a cumulative...

you can also use conditional formatting statements it sounds like you're doing something similar to a basic black jack +/- counting system but your C column seems to be adding even when the B column says short. maybe I'm missing something. also, C6 should be 246 not 256 if you're adding...

    Margin Interest

I assume this a retail account since you're are asking about margin interest. With that said, how are you only being charged a 10% margin req. on equities? NYSE minimum equity requirement is 25%. Back to the thread... You will be charged margin interest on any debit balance. A debit...

Margin wise, the market value of the stock is pegged to the strike so you can't gain excess equity beyond that point.

Delta does tell you how much the option price will move in relation to the underlying but a more realistic way of looking at it is the number of shares or % of 1 future the option currently represents. "... and is there s simple way to plot the curve as the contract heads closer to ATM, such...

learning to trade 30yr t bond

I only use TT. The CQG sales reps have been pitching their platform pretty hard lately. They say it's comparable to TT but I haven't seen it. If it's as easy to use and as fast as TT it might not be a bad deal. They said you can plot points on your chart to trigger orders.
