I'm completely bullish on casino stocks, in order of what I'm most trading, is: #1 MGM #2 WYNN #3 LVS #4 BYD #5 IGT btw LVS is the best for daytrading of all of those, then WYNN as second-best, tho wide spreads in WYNN... swings I like MGM best, it's a bear to daytrade... tip it runs...

Tips on How To Trade Large Size - Getting Used to 5k share scalps?

well said, thanks! I get it ... now I've just got to overcome the mental blocks.. it's like "writers' block", but traders' block, on risking more. I'm a big fan of risking as little as possible, but "no guts no glory" like they say... easier said than done, after all these years here I am...

Tips on How To Trade Large Size - Getting Used to 5k share scalps?

thanks all -- good points ... I like the one you said about don't look at the P&L, that's the main thing I suppose, is constantly monitoring every single dollar to gauge being up or down; I scalp with usually .04 - .1 max stops and looking to get .3-.5 on wins .. using IB ... and that's a...

Tips on How To Trade Large Size - Getting Used to 5k share scalps?

Hi - My #1 challenge as a trader isn't making winning trades; it's that I do so usually on small share 50-200 share size trades, dozens a day, which adds up but not as much as I know I am capable of... Does anyone who trades large size on higher priced stocks, eg $15-$60/share, over 2k...

MGM - Anyone else long and trading it?

thanks ...! it's been fun.. of the 4K total shares I'd started this adventure with recently, I closed out those 2k at high 10s in the daytrading account, and 1k at 12.2 trailing stop in my sep-ira account, and still open 1k long with close stops near low 10s for remaining open shares...

    Las Vegas Sands (LVS)

well said! definitely a good time to be taking profits; I've closed out 3k of my 4k MGM shares, and have a tight trailing stop on remaining 1k and all LVS open long shares... ca-ching! also nice recent runups in a lot of stocks (CAR, BGP, ZLC etc), great time to trail very close stops on this...

MGM - Anyone else long and trading it?

thanks.. I sold on the open because it was losing support at the 11, so I went ahead and exited, concerned that it might drop back to 10 ... it chopped around a bit then got more buyers -- I'd daytraded it on smaller shares up the rest of the way... it'll be interesting to see if it...

MGM - Anyone else long and trading it?

I don't know re gaming ETFs, though I know I'll be daytrading these short and long, depending on directional moves on volume... Here's the P&L IB screencap from the 2K I sold on the open... of course if I'd been patient and waited it went to 13 vs just 11, but that's ok: Looking...

MGM - Anyone else long and trading it?

I just made over $3K in MGM selling the gap up today. I was RIGHT about my calls, and trades. This is one of my best days ever, I made a total of $3701 net profits in my IB account today (screencap proof below), mostly thanks to the 2K MGM I just bought and sold. The only thing that...

MGM - Anyone else long and trading it?

I'm long a total of 4,000 shares MGM -- 2k in my sep and 2k in my IB account; let's see if this baby has legs. ca-ching! btw it was a bit nerve-wracking/took a lot of courage to buy that much stock, my big question to myself now is, where to trail a stop so that I don't get shaken out too...

MGM - Anyone else long and trading it?

I'm in 2k shares in my sep MGM long holding into earnings ... not sure yet if I will also initiate a new position into the close in my dt acct, probably will though... it's been consolidating 8.6-9 all day so far, waiting to see if it gets buyers over the 9 this last 2hrs into the close. I...

Daytrading leads to Inevitable Failure? Is Swing Trading the only Viable Path?

Some excellent comments here. As someone who's been daytrading for many years, I can say I agree with Pabst's point about it's not a losing method so much as it is, losing traders trading incorrectly. The blackjack analogy is great; I play at the Bellagio often, whenever I'm doing a...

MGM - Anyone else long and trading it?

Good play -- trading inside the 10.0-8.5 trading range likely good for day trades...! I'm loading the boat, though I thought it was a deal back at 10, before it dropped to 2.. it's risky. Should be interesting to see if it fills the gap to the downside between 6.5 and 8 during the days...

I've been day and swingtrading LVS for weeks now, wildly bullish on LVS WYNN MGM (especially MGM starting tomorrow on news after today's halt), likely all casino stocks will continue their rally on sector sympathy moves up. Gee I remember a talking head 'booya' guy on tv saying stay away from...

MGM - Anyone else long and trading it?

I've been trading MGM since late last year; looks like good news after this afternoons' halt, will likely gap up tomorrow, I'll sell the gap up on any weakness, and likely daytrade it again throughout the session... Anyone else trading MGM? I'm long MGM and will be trading it, WYNN/BYD/LVS...

Would you trust any trading vendor without a blotter/proof/schedule D/profitable?

Here's something that's been bugging me. It seems virtually all the vendors our there who purport to train traders FAIL to show proof of their ability to actually trade. And yet people still shell out thousands of dollars for their unproven training. wtf? Personally I believe any vendor...
