    What are your Trading Breakthroughs?

Did you experiment with multiples of your stop(s) as well...? Seems ATR is an endlessly moving target, unless based on a very long period, in which case it can lag... Ultimately the smaller the multiple the "safer" the exits..

    2012: The Battle for Survival

Most Brokers offer NO tools to save the trader.. that would take the emotion out of trading and level the playing field too much.

    2012: The Battle for Survival

MY GOD MAN!.. Why are people so transfixed on one method of making money in the markets? IMHO, the lower your time frame the more difficult things get... SWING TRADE..!! ETFs if you don't have time to study stock by stock.. I think more money has been made in the markets swing trading than day...

Trading volumes at 5 year low.

Are we here to trade or make money? Making money by holding is a bad kind of money?

Trading volumes at 5 year low.

Move up the Time Frame ladder?

Trading volumes at 5 year low.

This reminds me of Housing where everyone wants things back to "normal" without thinking 2003 to 2007 was an unsustainable blow-off.. It would be nice if that Volume chart showed 15 to 20 years data to put 2007 to 2010 in context.. The volume we have now MAY not be ridiculously light... could be...

    Charts of Note

GREAT CHARTS!! I am a firm believer daytrading is a very bad idea for most but trading dailies and weeklies are a much better bet... I do trade the AU a lot but still find it hard to hold over a day... (spend too much time around short-term scalper traders) getting better hopefully... My...

    Trading on "Instynct" (NQ)

Instynct, Haven't been on ET since I left a while back to Forex. Only in the past Month have I started to get some traction digging myself out of a small hole.. Yes trading multiple markets is a great idea, especially if you don't have multiple setups types you look for. I watch 3 pairs...

    What are your Trading Breakthroughs?

Great recent Posts... Read this quote somewhere.. "A man is as strong as the things he can do without",,, Same goes for trading.. YOU DON"T HAVE TO... (even IF you do need the income).. The resulting peace AND control is something..

    NoDoji's Trading Plan Development

+++1111 Everytime I have talked to traders that mis-manage trade (myself included), I ask "has your presence watching a position improved your results in the past"? The answer is almost always no.. So why the hell do you keep watching!!? Whatever your time frame, one must allow multiple...

Hey all you price predictors: when is a pullback gonna come?

It's all probabilities man. It's all you've got as a trader. Nobody ever "knows". If you were not going to try a long there, where were you? This has got to be what the hallowed 5% great traders do.. see good probability, bet immediately while the rest of us (me anyway) wait to "know". A...

    What are your Trading Breakthroughs?

Without context you may be both saying the same thing.. You could be buying a 3 min chart high breakout in Ansare's 4 Hour chart low area.. For me it has been capitalization... enough to put stops where they SHOULD (invalidated trade) rather than to simply limit loss. Two VERY different...

    Trading on "Instynct" (NQ)

I hear you Instynct... I have made the forced account protection comment before and some think that is the Job of the Trader.... To that I say the Male trader ego can be something to behold. To say "I am weak" in this or that and could use help is Taboo such a "crutch" lessens the towering...

    Trading on "Instynct" (NQ)

Happy New Year guys... It has been a while... Sorry a bit of rough going for you lately.. THE only thing that could ever GUARANTEE no excessive down days (which more often than not got worse for me as the day progressed) is a percentage account loss limit for the day. When I was with Global...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

Reminds me of what Instynct said about 9 to 5 mentality. In trading you don't get paid in a linear way.. no X$ for XHrs of work.. You may sit 4 hours and in 1 hour get paid for the day... Also difficult to go home with nothing or a loss.. You don't lose money at a 9 to 5 job.. Such a slooow...

    Trading on "Instynct" (NQ)

Instynct, Excellent points. To tell a newbie you get paid more for doing less... Most will say fantastic! where do I sign? Then they start to trade and life changes.. Will SIM from December on and if I can put in a successful (meaning relaxed.. not money) few weeks, return to cash. I...

    Trading on "Instynct" (NQ)

Schaefer.... You are still around? Wow.. Many of us are like relics of ET.. Rightly said.. The root of my problem is an inability to accept THE true stop so I end up with stops that are sure to be taken. The larger stop, though unimaginable to the fearful trader actually rarely gets reached...
