Aside from market manipulation? Managers who've been short or less than fully invested are buying as they need to show that even though they may have underperformed markets, they still have stocks that were amongst the market's favorites. Window dressing from now till the end of the year for...

Markets have been manipulated for the longest time. It has just become more blatant. Trade long enough and you see it. The way the present administration is doing it is really something else though.....as Obama likes to say..."unprecedented". Unprecedented manipulation.

    The Surf Report

Better luck next time. There is a thin zone here so it could go higher. There is also a rising wedge that could be broken. Nothing is a certainty in this market as anything can happen as I'm sure you well know. This area looks like a good short and I agree, market does look ready for a nice...

    The Surf Report

As he refuses to disclose his stop, it's probably in the 1200 area. But then again, he could mention that he was stopped out after the fact. Makes no difference as anyone can call that a drop will be coming as the market has rallied pretty much straight up from March. Calling a top enough times...

Great gov't and bankers hard at work. Trash dollar and prop markets. Make money both ways.

Time will tell. Sure risk to reward ratio is better on the short side after this run we're having but to call a meltdown....where would your stop be? Above 1050...we could really pop. If you look at charts, we have a pretty thin area up above. I am also short biased but am playing both sides...

Japan's elections could be a catalyst. Liberal Democratic Party which has power will lose to the Democratic party signaling a shift in policies. Election results coming in now. May or may not affect US-Japan relations but may be cause for a pullback depending on how the media and powers that be...

Fed Must Make Public Reports on Emergency Loans, U.S. Judge Says

Fed and cronies will fight it every step of the way. If they had nothing to hide, they would have disclosed the information a while ago. Another reason it is important for HR1207 to pass. Fed acts as if it's above the law playing by it's own rules. Taxpayers and general public end up paying...

gotta know how the game is played. hr 1207 was gaining steam as well. this rally....fed will take credit for it. people have short term memory. best thing that could have happened (hr1207) may not pass. then we are back where we were before all this happened. lost wealth will never be regained...
