I did send out an e-mail to Beta. Sounds like I wasn't the only one affected since they put out a new version a few hours after the open.
I kind of expect some hiccups at this point in the software testing. So, I can handle it with my trading style without a problem. I did switch back to...
FWIW, I've been running the current versions of eSignal with Win98 SE without any problems at all over the past couple of years.
7.0 Beta1 is another story though.
This is a risk that any good, successful trader will concern himself with, regardless of the timeframe.
Trading on a stock can be halted during the day for a variety of reasons. Can you imagine being short when a takeover is announced in the middle of the day that doubles the stock price...
I was at the Art Expo in NYC this past weekend and came across an artist, Mike Rollins, whose artwork looks like a ticker tape. I got a copy of his Buy Low Sell High poster to put above my trading desk. I figured you guys might also be interested.
Here is a link to his poster...
Why do you assume this is a favorable price since it's below the market.
While it could be a delayed report, there are other possibilities. The one that instantly comes to mind is that someone wanted out of the stock and negotiated the trade with a MM. The MM agreed to buy the stock from...
LOL I love this statement. Without qualifying it, it can mean anything. And it's subject to the listenter's beliefs.
Just think about it for a second. Is he talking about a used Yugo, a McLaren F1, a Duesenberg, or what? Or how about one of the no money down car deals?
I'd say I'm primarily a swing trader. My time frame has shortened significantly over the years. When I first started trading I would easily hold winning trades for months. Now you see the same size gains in a few weeks or less. Especially short sales.
I also like not being glued to the...
I think that at this point you can't really draw any conclusions. It's too small a sample.
And,as you mentioned, you don't know who is participating and if they are being truthful. But, that's a common problem with surveys.
I guess mine should be pretty obvious since it's just my first name and last initial.
I pretty much use the same handle on a variety of forums I visit, in case any sees it in those places.
It's just a question of trading time frames. Most daytraders have pretty tight stops so they get in and out of the market quickly. Swing traders tend to have slightly wider stops and can handle the overnight gaps that are somewhat typical on volatile stocks.
I think the problem is that some...
Tony,
It was great meeting and chatting with you on Tuesday. :)
I think the majority of the people attending your talks got something out of it whether they were newbies or have been trading for 15 years+.
Good luck on the new venture.
I want to say it was great seeing Baron, RTharp, Tony Oz, Intrinsic, Limbo, Cash, BrandonF, Tony, and the others at the expo. I only wish I had more time to chat with many of you. Since meeting you guys was the best prat of the show for me.
Tony,
I really appreciate your posts (and books). I'm looking forward to meeting you at the OTE this weekend.
I think it would be nice to see more of your thinking like you had in The Stock Trader. For example, why you picked the stock, where you set your initial stop loss point, your...
I'd rather see a meeting start earlier. Like a number of others that will be attending, I live in the NYC metro area. So, if we meet at 7 as suggested, then we have a lot of time to kill. And can't make plans to meet friends afterwards. BTW, the exhibit hall closes at 5 on Sunday.
Also, as...
I'm running the NEC MultiSync FE950+. I really like it. It's nice and sharp corner to corner. :)
If you can, go check out a local computer store or two to see what they have on display and compare.
BTW, I was also disappointed with Viewsonic recently. I had bought one and it had a...

The bar there isn't the best place for a lot of people to chat. As I remember it, the tables are generally for only 2 to 4 people and hard to move together.
If you don't like the term visualization, how about substituting it with Mental Rehersal? Most, if not all top athletes (and traders) plan their game out a head of time. They anticipate the positive and negative possible outcomes and how they will react to it. It's a very effective technique...
