Daytrading: Should I consider other software than NinjaTrader?

when does this lagging crosshair occur? oh yeah I forgot about the tabs.. definitely a major improvement. Do you know how to drag a tab to another window ? I couldn't figure it out - I mean to move it out of one window and put it into another existing chart window

Daytrading: Should I consider other software than NinjaTrader?

yup.. that should solve the problem )

Daytrading: Should I consider other software than NinjaTrader?

there are some improvements to be sure.. like not have to use the default instrument list from a chart and being able to type in any window the name of an instrument. as far as multithreaded goes, I believe them but it is still lacking.. like why should loading data freeze up all your windows...

Daytrading: Should I consider other software than NinjaTrader?

haha lol, why they need such stuff in an indicator is beyond me. They should have chosen some scripting language if they didn't want to create their own language. But like people say, NinjaTrader's addon support is really intended for 3rd party developers to sell their wares so if your business...

Daytrading: Should I consider other software than NinjaTrader?

I am a programmer and it still took me several hours to convert a (non trivial) indicator to NT8 from NT7. It was someone else's source code and I hadn't programmed anything for NT8 before and NT7 I hadn't coded in 5 years I guess. Actually it was 2 indicators but the second was short and quick...

Daytrading: Should I consider other software than NinjaTrader?

sure it is possible to write indicators without being a programmer, just I'd imagine more frustrating.. harder though with Ninja than almost any other platform I can think of (except Sierra - you might really need to be a programmer for that)

Daytrading: Should I consider other software than NinjaTrader?

I know I'm late to this thread but I just wanted to point out the rationale for NinjaTrader taking years upon years to release a new version. Simply it is, anyone developing code for their platform (Indicators, Strategies) would have a hissy fit if they had to recode their stuff every year...

Anyone using Python on a large scale trading application?

does anyone know if the JForex API is Thread-Safe? I assume it must be from the nature of the thing and from the examples but I just haven't read it anywhere - and nobody answers anything on the Dukascopy JForex forums, don't know why that forum exists really.

Tell Me Why This Simple Strategy Won't Work

no what I meant was exit when it's time to exit (depends on the situation)... depends on each trade and what's going on. I guess that's harder if your coding strategies, but in manual trading it's not a problem to do since you are at the computer anyhow. I mean have a stop to handle situations...

Tell Me Why This Simple Strategy Won't Work

yes, exactly - were it not for noise, trading would be sooooo easy. The pairs that move the most are more jittery when you zoom in. There is no pair with tiny spread and really smooth constant nice volatile moves. I never understood the people who say, just find a system that always loses and...

Looking to get a new computer - Any advice would be really helpful

I would say RAM is by far more important than anything... then CPU then SSD. Really depends on your trading software. Sierra Charts seems to not require too much but others like NinjaTrader if you have many charts open and some browser windows open, you might want more than 8GB (12 or 16). You...

Why you should never listen to the morons in the internet

hate when that happens... sometimes it also makes you exit a winning trade too early )

Why you should never listen to the morons in the internet

Now the problem with Java is that it is constantly (at least it seems like constantly) nagging you to update... they should write it so that it automatically downloads, doesn't nag you and installs on next reboot (if you agree to a dialog when you're shutting down the computer) - but that would...

Who is the best forex signal provider in the market ?

that's exactly the point of signal providers... the guy who trades his money based on some other guy's signals has someone to blame when he loses it all :)

    Why EUR-NZD so Volatile?

ok, I'm a bit late to the party... but... just wanted to say, awesome explanation. I found this wading through many google search results, and this is the answer I was looking for. kudos

    FTSE 100

Hi, what discount futures brokerages provide ability to trade the FTSE? I mean can anyone recommend a couple? I like to use ninjatrader or maybe multicharts thanks

All the things that are wrong with Multicharts

subpip values on forex look the same as the rest of the number. This really makes the chart a bit hard to read. Most other platforms have it differentiated somehow.. ' or different color or smaller size or small raised e.g. 1.0000'5 or 1.00005 or 1.0005 is better than 1.0005
