how long can a party decide if they want to break a trade done outside of market hours? Do they have to let their ECN / Broker within 30 minutes? Within the same trading day? Before Settlement ? ( T + 3 or is it now T + 1 ) ? :confused:

well I guess I could trade the major currencies through my acount with IB ... forgot about that ... I will try to see if the speads are as tight as the spot FX market

I am curious if any of the independent traders or traders in Trading Firms here have ever traded the Foreign Exchange or Commodity Markets ? Made one daytrade in USD / Euro a few yrs ago and in the 1980's made a few small daytrades in commodities and am thinking about complimenting...

one reason is greater because itsa mini contract perhaps oneday the tail will wag the dog but I do think the PIT (open outcry) still leads the E Mini epecially when there is size being traded

I made a trade on the open friday where I hit the Instinet bid on a stock a split second after the stock made its opening print on the NYSE the bid was only for 100 shares it was 10 -15 cents higher than the specialist opening print I covered it a few minutes later turns out...

is this a new service from a former employee of the others? even if it is not free ... it would be great to hear nas futures live ... if it is good "Box" whats the internet address?

don't forget the futures traders who will join the crowd when the SSF's roll into play I am still waiting for an actual starting date anyone heard anything ? :confused:

I would think the watcher drops bid joins bid type of info is overwhelming on big names on nasdaq I am curious if the high flyers who traded there are making 1/4 - 1/2 as much as they used to as times are much different now

this is my understanding as far as stocks go retail customers can place orders on the IB platform after instinet is up and running on it usually that is between 3:15 - 3:30 am somtimes it is even closer to 3 am usually it is not worth trading anything as the spreads are wide...

I hope my tax acct is not the only one who did not follow the MTM rulings .... because if so , and if the IRS has some sort of software that flags traders who deducted more than $3000 in losses for a given year without the MTM election being taken I guess my acct will have a date down...

does anyone care to guess if the IRS really enforces the MTM guidelines that some CPA's are recommending ? my CPA's interpretation of the rule is that since I do not keep positions at end of year I do not need to elect this. I hope he is not dead wrong on this and that I do not...

got caught short in MMM just before the open today ... does anyone ever try to play MMM and get a consistent profit on it? :mad:

anyone ever trade better after a thorough cleanup of their home? I trade out of my apartment and always seem to be backed up in doing taxes , laundry , cleaning out magazines , newspapers dusting vacuum ... I guess if I were making more money consistently I could hire someone to...

got lucky ... my TWS went back up and I was able to close out my postion at a profit .. could have easily been a loss if my positon was reversed ... think I will take some time off and see if quotes are good later :)
