    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Similar sentiments here. My first reaction was to disregard CV, but then I began to notice that sectors of the market began imploding left and right. The bigger problem is that this struck just following a monumental blow off move with tons of equities severely extended and now you have the...

Tax relief measures just because stock market is down. Enough of this foolishness!!!!!

I think you might be speaking with a bot from the Ministry of Plenty.

Trump’s Approval Rating Over His Handling Coronavirus Is Crashing Down, Down, Down…

He took the easy way out, after complaining about market bubbles on the campaign trail. After all, it was always going to be easier to conflate the stock market bubble as a genuine indicator for some sort of economic achievement. The vast majority always have, and always will, confuse the...

If I were Trump, I'd "bailout/stimulate" shale producers.

I know. Also read their exposure to the soaring 10 year. The pain is everywhere now. It's why I disagree with those who think this is some sort of correction (Oct 18-Dec 18) did not have panic bids to safety like this, nor crude crashing 35% (at its low) in 1 session.

    WTF? CL and NG disconnect

Mass liquidation event. Imagine a scenario where a fund is short 10 years, long equities. Getting blown out of that. Long crude, blown out of that, short nat gas, etc, etc...In normally functioning markets without margin calls left and right, probably a bit easier to imply cause and effect.

If I were Trump, I'd "bailout/stimulate" shale producers.

So much damage done in the past several days. Once the dam broke, the entire sector is basically on life support with too much debt overhang. I'm afraid there are too many holes to plug at this point.

Russell way under those mid-year lows from 2019. Figures as much since high yield stuff is getting re-priced.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

ES/SPY would have to rally about 20% to close the open gap from 2 weeks ago.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

The energy sector and the ten year say otherwise, along with a bunch of other indicators.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Out of curiosity (I honestly don't remember), how active was he during the Oct-Dec 2018 correction? I remember the non-stop activity Jan 2019 onwards, but I don't remember a ton of pumping in that pullback. (Also, the Fed was making hawkish overtures most of that ride lower, aside from...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Severe, severe damage already done. The ten year is more panic bid than 2008. Crude down 30+% overnight. Energy stocks in a world of pain. Tech stocks still in the stratosphere. It's very difficult, if not impossible, to plug the unwind of a parabolic top.

how far could the market go down?

Stunning. That last poke thru the highs the day AAPL warned and the markets still rallied green was the nail in the coffin. I'll be the first to admit that things felt "broken" in a way that kept me away from playing it aggressively either way. (Plus the Tesla nonsense).

    S&P 500 Futures Limits for 3/09/20

A C.Y.A. call. Then I saw a call for prices in the $20's. Of course, it made it to the $20's. 2 months ago crude peaked on that Iran rumor at around $65. All the way down to $27.50.

    S&P 500 Futures Limits for 3/09/20

You can do that right now with just about every company in the energy sector. Obviously, the bigger issue is that once they are 80% off their debt becomes harder to service and the companies can go into a death spiral. A one-day 60-80% off is just a pipe dream, you aren't considering funding...

    S&P 500 Futures Limits for 3/09/20

I agree. The OP should just trade crude if he wants the thrill of massive volatility. Down 33% from Friday and still flying around.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Combination of funny and frightening the chatter on this thread less than a month ago. Not going to kick a dog when it's down, this market was literally marked up higher day after day for weeks/months with little to no price discovery.
