    My option trades

The numbers for the ORCL trade didn't add up. He clearly stated he bought March23 2012 calls for $1.00, no strike mentioned. But the only $1.00 options available were the March23 30.00 Puts. He hasn't clarified this discrepancy yet.

Don't you have a link to my post? You have a bad habit of hijacking popular threads to capture an audience for yourself, what a loser.

Flip Flopping all over the place. Those calls closed at $8.00, I assume you bought them hours before your post. I think you are loosing your Mojo with the AAPL trades.

But in the context of this thread credit spreads or selling calls and puts isn't an option, you don't get the returns ryanpatrick has gotten during the last three months, or to get to $20,000 by years end through option time decay. You have to be a buyer, not a seller. The guy at the...

Best options strategy to avoid time decay?

$3.00 b/a spread on DITM options that expire in two years, a $600.00 stock with a daily range of well above $3.00. OP wants to avoid time decay. Not sheer genius, just Options 101 and better than your solution. :)

Which strike? The only $1.00 options I see are the March23 30.00 Puts.

Best options strategy to avoid time decay?

You mean the bid/ask spread? I don't think it's "crazy", but we will have to wait till the market opens - Yahoo finance clears all that data around midnight EST. The 240 calls will move dollar for dollar to AAPL.

Best options strategy to avoid time decay?

Buy deep ITM calls. Example: AAPL Jan 2014 240.00 calls http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=AAPL140118C00240000

I think he ate some bad apples. I tried to warn him about the bad apples and suggested apple sauce instead, but he wanted the apples. You get the apple taste with apple sauce, but without the risk of the apples.

Calling the top or bottom is hard. I would think it has the lowest percentage of success of any other trading strategy. :)

Options 101: Subject IV Hence my reasoning behind buying QQQ options instead of AAPL options. I quick look at both the QQQ and AAPL March23 weekly options chains - as of now - will show the QQQ puts and calls out-preformed the AAPL options. The percentage gains are higher on the QQQ ATM...

Apple announcing what it plans to do with its' 97 billion cash on hand!

Apple rewards investors with dividend, share buyback. "SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook, moving swiftly after taking over from the late Silicon Valley icon Steve Jobs, fulfilled a longstanding desire of investors by initiating a quarterly dividend and share buyback that will...

Not Applicable in the context of this thread, which is "betting on a big move in the stock price". Enough of a move to make a profit from the options, in most cases OTM options. I will give an update next week. :)
