    Potash IPO next week

No I meant this is a crazy price for the shares and those who buy it (for an investment) will regret it. For traders its great. Its 74 million shares in total not 30mm. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    From the G7, foolish commentary

From what I read today they want to prevent this from happening again but do not want to make changes or endorse changes that will take effect now to prevent more instability. Looks like some sort of forced reserve management system or something. The side effects of which IMO will dampen the...

The reason they could sell at about 90% is because this is not the worst they have. Sure its great that they can sell it but now they should mark down the rest on their books, so anouther 3 billion plus on this paper alone. I think this is the begining of the large debt firesales that will...

    Patrick Byrne on Cramer................

Fly, I agree with yours and Byrne's call for better regulation and less manipulation. I bought puts in OSTK when it was in the forties a few years back. This was before I even knew what a naked short was. I think I went with the puts because I could not get shares. Anyways although Byrne...

    Holy UBS Batman!!

My question is this. Will this cause corporations to take charges due to losses on their cash holdings? I think I have already seen this from some firms but don't recall thier names. This could become a big problem IMO.

IB eliminates margining on many stocks!

As an IB customer the only concern I have is that I have not heard about this until today. Is there a link to an official statement from IB? Over the last while I have capped or eliminated my overnight risk and reduced my position sizes. But there have been so many short term opportunities...

    See anything wrong here?

Ok for everyone that does not understand. Enterprise value = equity + debt-(cash short term securities) or the actual value for the entire company if it was bought at the market because you would not pay for the cash. It is fine for a bank or broker to have a enterprise value that is a...

So many BSC threads lets cut to the chase...

I think he saved them from a hostile takeover and got pulled into the looming implosion. This is where I read this not sure if it is correct as it was before my time. http://chinese-school.netfirms.com/Warren-Buffett-Salomon.html

So many BSC threads lets cut to the chase...

IMO buffet rummors are greatly exagerated, don't think he would touch this. Did he ever come to the rescue of any other financial company who imploded? Is the $80 book value correct, nobody except those who can see the real numbers know. Billions have been pulled out of Bear so for sure...

    Pal

The guy was heaped with scorn because he was pumping pal and swc all over the internet and then here for about a year. The fact that the trades worked( after a large drawdown in both) has nothing to do with it it was the way he went about it.
