    Crude diverging

You guys ought to know better than believe these silly price-based ''divergences''. That's like declaring someone the winner of the tour de France based on him winning the first race. Waaay too early in many/most cases.

    Very bullish

Buy the DIP? Hey, that's technical enough! :D I have no positions, so don't really care. A down move would have to start by Tuesday. An up move may have begun, so who knows?

When you figure out a way to make some dough on a regular basis with that crap, let me know.

    Trader P/L 2005

I quit trading the healthcare stocks a while back 'cause they're *really* crooked in that sector for some reason. Full of fake intraday moves. All the daily movements occur overnight after these crooked specialists load up on some stock and then gap them higher/lower to scam the crap out of...

    Trader P/L 2005

That could *never* work. What the hell would people be doing during working hours then? Spreading rumors and cheating the crap out of such a rule?

has to be the most insane market ever

So what? What does retail mean? More consumer debt, bigger trade deficit and stronger China. I guess some market crooks will figure out a way to make all this look real good. Just like when Walmart report 5% increase in same store sales. So what! That's just *inflation* on their...

    Tough morning in YM

The way I see it, some big assholes keep the ''market'' (the main indexes like NDX, SP500, Dow, etc) dead by *constantly* raising several sectors up to get buyers in. At the same time, they drop a bunch of other sectors to flush out sellers. As soon as this process is done, BAM!, they reverse...

    Tough morning in YM

There are no ''real'' buyers/sellers. Just daytraders, specialists and machines. Total bullshit.

    Tough morning in YM

I think many of you guys trading these manipulated indexes would probably do better working at McD's!

    Sad to See

Well, I'd say whoever buys that garbage probably deserves to be parted from his money, so.... he's just speeding up the process. :D

    King of the Street!!

Considering today's trading environment, nobody's gonna tell you anything of relevance. Even telling *what* they trade is many times considered an "edge". For example, I've been trading a ''previously not well known" index and it's components for the last couple of years. But since it got...

    Sectors and Groups to watch

Brandon, what sources are you getting your industry/sector data from?

Are the results of backtesting reasonable?

How far back are you going with this backtesting, anyway? Are you using daily or minute data? And which platform are you using? How about a pic of the equity curve?

    Break-even trading

Do you run your credit cards to the limit monthly, so that you can get their 1% cash back too?

    machine trading replacing us?

Yeah, but the Ferraris have to drive on the roads paved by the big load-hauling trucks and bulldozers. And nowadays they ain't using much asphalt (too much aggregate) and the road's pretty rough for the Ferraris that are left. Plus, you can easily get stuck and crushed by these monsters.

question about doing trading as a business

Sounds like you want to have your cake and eat it too. Tax system does not allow that. Deduct your meals and gas? That's for a ''real'' business. If you want that deduction as a self-employed person, then yeah, you have to pay the self-employment ''social security'' tax. Otherwise, claim...

The treacherous path to $200k a year

I guess you're slowly realizing it's more treacherous than you thought!:D Nobody's handing out $$$ nowadays, that's for sure.

    Slippage for stocks

Like I said, most will depend on the volume and spread of an individual stock. The more liquidity, the closer you'll come to getting the closing price.
