    How discipline helps in trading

If you've got an edge and understand and use a disciplined methodology to execute it, you'll succeed. Otherwise, an edge poorly executed without a set of rules, in the long run is useless and will ultimately fail.

    How discipline helps in trading

You are absolutely 100% spot on. All the TA mastery in the world will not help you until you master your emotions and consistently maintain discipline in your trading. Everybody looks for the holy grail in the wrong places... Discipline is the holy grail. If you master this one principle... you...

    How to sit on winners

I concur, in part, with what R. Raskolnikov posted. I have no idea what kind of trader you are, your type of trading, so I'm wagging it, but based on your post... you are trading with fear -- scared money. You can have the best system in the world, but if you trade with fear, you'll limit...

List of personal rules for trading that makes U successful

You nailed it. I've relied heavily on probabilities with my setups and it works. Nothing fancy, very simple, but it works. Good post.

List of personal rules for trading that makes U successful

Unfortunately, I end up sitting around on the off chance one of my setups is hit, but I find the probabilities of success usually drop dramatically during the day, so I pull back on the capital exposure if I decide to take a stab at something. Like I said, I usually don't... but I've found a...

List of personal rules for trading that makes U successful

    1. Trade probabilities. I only trade my setups that have a 75% or higher probability of success. These occur regularly at the open and the close. I rarely trade anything in between. 2. Wait for your setups to materialize. Don't try to make something happen.. be patient. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2.

why this board isn't healthy if you trade for a living

When I first started trading for a living I would visit ET on a regular basis and realized very quickly it was not healthy. I distanced myself from the poisonous nature of many of these posters. I can't honestly remember the last time I visited or posted here. Today I happened to drop by from a...

    Antivirus advice urgently needed....

If you want the mother of all protection... run your apps / browser inside a virtual sandbox. I've had zero problems over the last few years since I changed to this sort of system. I still use AVG but coupled with running my browser inside a virtual sandbox... my system is just about...

Where is the recession? Show me ?

All I know is the consumer has to be spending dollars to keep stocks on the rise. I don't anticipate a whole lot of enthusiasm for that given the dollar, gas, food and unemployment stats. I trade rimm and aapl a lot and I just trade what I see... but I kinda laugh when I see the prices I'm...

    BS market

Since when is the market rational? I'll continue to trade what I see... but in the back of my mind, I can't help but think we're going to see a huge plunge in the near term. Don't know when... but my gut is telling me we ain't in Kansas anymore.

I made a ton of money on this one today but I got to believe there are going to be lawsuits in the pipeline given the CEO comments on CNBC the other day.

    Replaying Live Session

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but there is freeware out there like CamStudio that will record your desktop. Whenever I get ready to put on a trade, I hit record and I'm good to go. Hit stop when the trade is over... pretty simple really. Helps fine tune and evaluate my entries...

Question on Mark to Market Accounting

Doing a search on ET doesn't help clarify a question on mark to market. I'm going to be filing a change in accounting for myself with this years return. My question is this... if my wife still works full time and I've changed to mark to market next year, can we still file as married...
