trading thru IB using Medved QT

There is an interesting alternative. Get real time data from IB. Chart with Sierra (www.sierrachart.com) Backfill with MyTrack (adds 25$ monthly) Sierra is very good and you place your orders via the TWS: don't you have to keep it running even when trading with QT? Backfill, is...

    Looking for Futures Broker

As the name says it is really 5 per side, fees included. It is even less for GLOBEX (7.04 the last time I traded). Same for options. NYBOT add some 3 $ per side. Service close to nothing... so probably not for the newcomer. alberto

    Living and trading in France

"You will need some kind of health insurance if you do this although it is not usually too expensive." Probably not: if you are covered by the NHS in the UK you can get a E112 form and get the same coverage in France. alberto

    eSignal Forex Quotes

It is true that IqFeed has FOREX data, but they don't have a database of past ticks/1 minute data as they have for futures or securities. Also, I understand you can't chart FOREX with (say) Ensign... At least so they told me. alberto

    Datafeed

I am having a one week trial, but found several bad ticks and noticed nobody seems to care... With MyTrack bad ticks used to be corrected within minutes; I wrote to DTN's support and the bad ticks are still there. I wrote to the account manager who's in charge of my trial accoun tand he...

    Global Futures

I can't say anything about their services: I am just investigating whether or not they would be OK for me. However, I called them saturday and, surprise (!), I could speak with a broker: the guy was very friendly, called me back (I am in Italy) gave me plenty of information... That's...

aud\jpy spread is 10 pips according to refco!

Normally, spread for EU futures (GLOBEX) is much smaller than 7 pips: sometimes it is just 1, normally around 3! Commissions: I pay 7 $ r/t so it is less than 1 tick... Most FX brokers have larger spread. alberto

    Commodity Futures Brokers?

I suppose you get what you're paying for. 10 $ r/t (no matter the number of contracts traded) is a good rate for pit traded futures; plus they have no minimum account and halved daytrading margins. I am also quite satisfied by their fills. However, you might get fills reported late, or...

    stops on options - exit

I wouldn't recommend stops on options: unless it's a very liquid issue, you might get a fill price that is much lower than your stop. Remember that even if the stock doesn't gap, the option might do so if it doesn't trade frequently. I have read that some brokers allow you to link an...
