Retail broker offering FIX and is not too greedy - where?

I'm still searching for that too. I need a direct access futures broker though. Limebrokerage seems fine but doesn't do futures. I'm really disappointed with the Windows crap most brokers make you run as well.

Oanda nabs $100 million in venture funds

Online currency trading site Oanda only takes in about one one-hundredth of a percent in revenue off of each trade, according to Chief Technology Officer Michael Stumm. But, since the site can clear around $10 billion in trades on a big day, it's a somewhat attractive business, he adds...

Looking for reliable, unfiltered real-time data feed provider w/ API

I'm used to working with linux and freebsd servers. The financial world seems to be sort of an exception when it comes to the choice of operating system. Windows is okay and the compatibility range is enormous indeed, but it's just not as stable as unix-based systems.

Looking for reliable, unfiltered real-time data feed provider w/ API

I did of course, but I can't justify the pricing at this moment, their direct data feed is meant for redistributors, not sole traders.

Looking for reliable, unfiltered real-time data feed provider w/ API

Thank you. Yes, it's unbelievable the best provider (in terms of compatibility etc) is free. I will indeed test but I'm not sure this will be reliable enough for me in the longer run, which is why I asked. For everyone's information: I'm not looking for the very cheapest option and I don't...

Looking for reliable, unfiltered real-time data feed provider w/ API

Yes, but please show me what data providers and/or retail brokers offer a true socket connection, that is not in fact handled by their windows based API. TT talk of FIX support, which in fact boils down to a (Windows-based) adapter.

Looking for reliable, unfiltered real-time data feed provider w/ API

This is really disappointing. eSignal, DTN, CQG, TT, none of the retail data vendors contacted offer anything I need. At this (developmental) stage I just don't need a direct exchange feed or an institutional(ly priced) solution. Running a Windows box just to handle feeds (and communicate...

That's quite a bold and unjust statement.

Looking for reliable, unfiltered real-time data feed provider w/ API

It seems one still needs to run either a Windows-based API or FIX adapter. Isn't there ANY linux friendly realtime streaming market data provider, apart from OpenTick and the institutional ones?

Looking for reliable, unfiltered real-time data feed provider w/ API

Thank you. Perhaps I'm not looking well, but TT provides little documentation on how to connect directly to their gateways instead of via their Windows API.

Looking for reliable, unfiltered real-time data feed provider w/ API

Offering T&S, DOM, most importantly supporting CME-traded futures contracts. To be used in conjunction with proprietary C++ trading software on a linux box, so no windows installs. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

My serious piece of advice - use your own capacities before asking! How can anyone tell you what you need to build?
