Trading Curbs In The Oil Pits

It IS an obligation to deliver or take delivery...and if you hold into delivery then you must be prepared to do one of the two. And who in the hell said I want to socialize my loss?????? Last time I checked, if I made a losing trade I payed for it...ME. Thats how I want it to be...ME be...

    grain spreaders

Shit, nobody wants to own anything right now except corn. In our area...wheat yields coming in even worse than expected (HRW), and yet basis widens out another 15 cents...we are looking at 90 under the Dec board right now. Beans not a big crop here...but basis widening on that too...corn saw...

Trading Curbs In The Oil Pits

great! All I know, is I love having liquidity...and to not have it would be much more detrimental than this "excess" liquidity you speak of. It comes down to this...markets cycle...was last year a freak event in the grains? Not really...maybe true for wheat, but look at corn...its done...

Trading Curbs In The Oil Pits

As a trader AND as an owner of a grain farm...I do not think this would help the markets AT ALL. Liquidity, while it does cause more volatility, is IMPERATIVE in order to better hedge the product. While I would love to have someone (speculators..of which I am one) to blame for MY bad pricing...

    Peak Fish

are you seriously THAT dumb?? I have been around farming and cattle since the day I was born (probably why I trade the ag futures), and cows do NOT eat the roots of GRASS. The most "environmentally damaging" animal to grass is a horse, due to how they graze. Because of their mouth...

    Ag mini values

no, the contract size is 1,000 bushels, so a $1 move would equal $1K, as opposed to 5K in the regular. You are correct though, tick size is 1/10 of the regular, @ $1.25 per tick.

How do I get a "local"?

you only pay the give up if the firm you are trading through doesn't have a filling broker in that pit. Otherwise, they'll likely make you use their guy. Not sure quite why you "need" direct access...calling an order in through the trade desk it goes to a floor broker. Only advantage of...

    grain spreaders

If you don't mind me asking, who'd you trade for?? I used to know a crush trader @ Bunge up in Kansas, but haven't talked to him in probably 4 years since he went to Cargill. Some great opportunities out there lately in the entire grain/bean complex. Too bad I'm only "half trading"...

    grain spreaders

there are two ways to figure the crush...three ways actually. One is the actual crush, one is the crush margin (margin made by crushers), and then there is the exchange recognized crush for margin calculation purposes. The two you need to look at are #1 and #3. #3 link is here...

Looking for remote Prop Firm allows complex options?

CTC and Wolverine are mostly MMs in options. Depending on your style that could be an option....pun intended. M&N seems to be more of a yield curve shop, Marquette a high frequency shop. There are a few boutique firms in Chicago, depending on whether you are doing futures or equity options.

    grain spreaders

Yes...its just a factor of the crush and supply. Look at the crush...we've been seeing some EXCELLENT opportunity for crushers lately with these elevated meal prices. Meal was moving higher with the beans, etc etc...now that demand has been rationed, and crusher selling has come in, meal and...

supply and demand when looking at the old vs new crops. Is a bird in the hand worth two in the bush? or do you have plenty of birds right now, and just need to worry about getting birds in the future? btw...if you are new, yes, trade the corn spreads *snooz*....but if you want to see...

Futures trading + Zen-Fire + direct pit access

check your PM heech. Advantage (no ZF for NT, but have other options for softs), ADM-IS, Newedge, are others but it may be easier to match a broker to your trading needs (electronic and pit access), and THEN get a trading platform. Being stuck on having one particular feed on one particular...
