Fan: I always leg as there is, of course, a chance to put on the spread at a better price. If you are using IB, the spreads are only available on ISE (at least as far as I can tell) Often times this will not be the best price available.

I am in Alaska. If I ping my gateway in San Diego, CA it is greater than 3000 ms much of the time. Obviously I'm not scalping but it is not an impediment to swings or option trades.

There's always the alternative of short call, long put= synthetic short stock. No uptick involved. Not quite as convenient though and may be some cap outlay initially.

I have one of each and mechanically they are about equal. However, the tech support is where Dell shines and gateway sucks. Ditto the comment about Gateway coming with useless crap pre-installed.

But at least they are displaying on both sides actively. Not like the philly that's usually 10-15 cents higher and lower than NBBO and stays that way all day. How do those guys stay in business? ISE must be eating Philly's lunch volume wise.

This is just a guess. Was the size that ISE posted LARGER than the size on your order? Was this on one of the few stocks that are now supposedly "linked" electronically to other exchanges? I have no complaints about ISE compared to all the others.
