    Market charlatans

Personally, Im thinking of painting my vehicle flat black I hate shiny things ! Im just hesitant because flat black seems like it has no clear coat and its non reflective property imply s that aerodynamics may go down the drain. It seems dumb, but such a drag over a a large surface can be...

He gave his car to his son in law. bought another one and he doesn't even need a car to begin with ! in 1997 a car made in 1997 is like a car made in 2013. I once did something similar. it wasn't a piece of crap car, some would say it was a bit more. I guess in retrospect it may one day...

    Market charlatans

You sum up alot in such simplicity. It seems people get so distracted that they actually cover after the extreem of the day is made ! Why do they not just see that? They must be occupied I guess. I just feel like yelling it out BEFORE ! NOT AFTER ! for the love of god before not after...

    Bad Kelly

I guess a good thing to look at when back testing is points where max draw down increased. At what rate do they increase? how often do they increase? and does it occur enough times to draw any conclusions? Or, has your max draw down been hit consistently and always reversed at the same...

Fed Reserve profits are the fastest growing revenue source for govt

I am sure the issue in my misunderstanding. Even the most basic of terms of a subject are usually oversimplified by those looking to make sense of things in a easy way. Manipulation of base money supply does not create inflation is an idea that hard to swallow. this suggests that if the USA...

    The 10,000 hour rule.

Thanks you state that the answer is that everything works in certain a certain level of volatility. 1. Why are you giving every one your sauce? 2. Why are you helping everyone? 3. Can you state what indicator works with what level of volatility? So that a trader can can look up...

Fed Reserve profits are the fastest growing revenue source for govt

You posts go over a lot issues that may be new to some. What you are saying is that money is created and that money goes to pay off the cost of printing money (interest) From there more money is needed so that interest in turn used to make more money. This cycle keeps the money out of the...

    Bitcoin thread anyone?

I see 2 weeks on the chart one of which is flat at 6 cents and the other jumps to 40 cents. Please tell me its been running more then 2 weeks if not, the probability of it being a great is over shadowed by the practicability that is a scam. 288 users and "800" workers. Not knowing the...

    Bitcoin thread anyone?

Well taxes is another world, If you are looking at economics, dont forgot your friend Bernake taxing you by not letting you take part in the imposed demand for the US dollar. You may not feel it yet but when the demand is not imposable you may. We also have the resources mining water electricity...

    The Luck Factor

So my attitude can effect the out come of a coin toss over 10 tosses? I think a positive attitude helps in keeping ones eyes closed to realities. Above we have a situation of good and bad luck. You choose to see good every where. By doing so, you delete your first loses and only count the good...

    The 10,000 hour rule.

Or they couldn't make money for other reasons. Not only did they learn to judge other peoples behaviour they also learnt what not to look at. Those things should still be valid. They had a bunch of things they used to ignore. when things went electronic they lost something, but at the same...

    The 10,000 hour rule.

Actually that is a bit too detailed for me. I summarize, buy high, don't take bad trades and take trades that are statistically probable. I like ideas that keep a trader occupied during times of being eaten up by fees. Those seem to be the most popular.

    Bad Kelly

Your understanding of the Kelly formulae shows that you seem to be somewhat good at math. There is multiple aspects of math. You have begun by assuming you have beaten the odds presented. Great, you proceed to calculate based on your calculation of what your black swan will do (1% chance of...

    50% ?

Nice, I do not know that much about slippage but if indeed it is negative when one buys and sells what you say may be a bonus. For some reason I feel at best it could reduce loose caused be slippage,But who knows, maybe it can actually create profit ? ?? If my instinct is right it would...

    50% ?

If this is a short cut of any kind it is both expensive and it does not seem short, the ideas are recent, but they are built off years of work. Participating, for some one who says they dont need money will be frustrating. He or she just may be in such a situation cause their trading is...

    50% ?

This leaves us with 1."1st it's about making a profit" 2. Get paid to trade 3. Volume (look at in conjunction with price) 4. holy grail (formally number #6) To this I would like to reluctantly add, 5. Go in the direction of the trend and 6. Take trades that are very unlikely to...

    50% ?

    5. "Eliminating" bad trades. This can fall under optimization or not. What is a bad trade? It is not a single trade, so it must be trades that are bought under certain situations (lets say a moving average (MA) trade to simplify). How can a MA trade be consistently bad ? That is like saying...
