    I LOVE the HSI futs!

Impressive liquidity. At 23:48 EST on IB's 5 minute line charts this shows more price points then all the active futures ES, IWM, JPY, CL combined. GC

Would like to know the tax treatment for US citizens of the overseas futures before I dive into trading Hong Kong. Thanks in advance, GC

    Who trades grains overnight?

A lot of the grain trade is export related and I am sure overseas desks are hedging and speculating in all of the 24hr futures markets. The relatively large bid/ask spreads do not mean that there is no market depth. There is size lurking at every level. GC

    Big C.L. - or - Mini QM ? ?

I have been charting USO along with CL because on some ID time frames the 24 hr charts are not as clear as the regular session charts. GC

maybe some selling to come in usd/jpy

It is coiling for a big move and on the cash jpy/usd daily there is a head and shoulders developing. I have been scaling in and out of the futures for the past month. While I have been early, there have been so many swings that my average price came down to these levels. Regards, GC

    Decimated Bee Populations

Thanks for all the replies. I did not know that some crops are wind pollinated. That makes me sleep better. And of course some microwave resistant bee may evolve before it's too late. This is just personal stuff but I have a concern about receeding or disappearing species and feel...

Would you trade GLOBEX Overnight Coppers Futures?

In general one has to reorient oneself to 24 hr ID charts which is a challenge. Copper, I only traded it once in the night session, but the bid/ask spread seems to be more reasonable when London opens. Crude and the JY, BP and even YG are the ones to trade if you are looking for action...

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

from frank-london: "The EC, ER2,BP, YM all have alot more daily range and intra day swings. " Also, don't forget CL. It is great for scalping. It bounces around more then ER2. I am a scalper in CL (in fact I started a thread under Energy Futures called: Some Observations on Scalping...

    Some observations on scalping Crude

It is going to be interesting to see how this will play out. Looking at SeasonalCharts.com (Classics/Cash) under crude oil. It shows weakness into the last days of April but straight up into Mid-May. Also I have a nice Gartley222 pattern forming on my 120 minute CL June futures chart. CL...

Is Market Delta a MUST ???

What amazes me is that most people think of the progression of the price auction as a linear and orderly process. If it was that trading would be easy. It is linear in time but it has other dimensions and this is why MD can be useful as a tool in some conditions and not others. Take...

Who's Chasing Copper At Nosebleed Levels?

I forgot to mention above that producers are under hedging their output during these conditions. There is tremendous pressure to keep up with the Joneses. Some crazy guy is not hedged and he is a hero and another who is fully hedged is a laggard. This goes on in all the commodity markets...

    Decimated Bee Populations

There is a piece in the Independent which gives a possible explanation. I am just surprised that there is no interest in this topic among traders. This is potentially big and immediate. http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/wildlife/article2449968.ece

Is Market Delta a MUST ???

I realize that others have methods where MD fits in perfectly but I have tried MD and all the dancing numbers and colors made me dizzy and lost my sense of market momentum so it is not suitable for everyone. In addition quite often the price simply blows through levels that are id'd as...

Who's Chasing Copper At Nosebleed Levels?

The following is a thread I started :Why is copper so strong? under Metals Futures My comment addresses the condition when the nearby futures is trading at a premium. It is a rare condition, Not hot air but physical demand is holding prices up. 03-20-07 06:30 PM Commodities and even...

    any electronic coffee trader?

The effect on high unroasted coffee prices on corporation profits would to a large extent depend on what degree they are hedged in the market. Some companies may have favorable forward arrangements and they would benefit early in the cycle. Others less covered would feel the pinch on profits...

Sugar Newbie question: SB or YO?

Regarding SB - or any other well established contract for that matter: A contract is more then a number dancing in front of our eyes. The exchange is a clearinghouse of sorts and provider of statistics, grading, delivery services, education etc for the industry and the public. In the...
