lol, I kind of meant it as the worst bench guy on a male's team would be a superstar on the women's team... but, you are correct .. daytrading stocks takes a huge amount of capital to make any money after commissions.

I doubt a 5k vs a 25k account really makes much of a difference. If someone is a consistent loser, then they'll lose all of it over time.

So, which comes first? Finding a working edge that is proven over time, thus eliminating psychological issues because the trader believes in the system. or Solving your psychological issues and then your method will be tradeable as it was designed, thus turning into your edge.

How many backtest trades might be considered adequate for a 1 minute scalp system? I am just eyeballing it over past charts and just wondering what others think is enough to validate results.

In theory, I'd like to make commentary videos wth my real time charts on the monitor and talk into a microphone , then save it as a movie format and burn it on a CD-R. Sorta like letting people watch me day trade without probing eyes in my back. Any idea what software or hardware I'd need ? :D

Well, it's a good idea.. but I don't see why a profitable trader would share their system with others that have probably have very little in exchange.

Monthly is fine, the fewer the better. People simply cannot comprehend the emotional up and downs, sacrifices and risks of a career trader.

Beats me, I would imagine it would be variable relative to your activity and size. It's simply not good business to maintain a $2k account that does 2 trades a month.

Just in case anyone cares, they quoted $4.50 RT for a 25k minimum account when I mentioned I was using IB at 4.80. Also, the larger the account and more activity, you could basically name your price. Pretty nice if you really wanted to trade 50 contracts.
