There are a million definitions for HFT. I think it is basically a catch-all excuse many use for when they realize they can't trade or make the wrong investments.

I don't get it either. I'm paying $4.4 RT using Zenfire. How much cheaper is Rhythmic? I just haven't seen it. If it is cheaper somewhere at a respectable broker, I'm all ears.

I can understand front running and overflow. But why should a HFT be required to make a market? Not all HFT's are performing market making type strategies.

From what I've heard... Their fund that is open to outside investors doesn't always have that good of returns. It is their private fund that makes the incredible % that everyone talks about. Everyone and their mother is doing HFT it seems. But, they don't seem to be available to the outside...
