    Advanced Backtesting

During real trading besides the current price (ie. last trade price) IMO nearly everybody watches also the actual Bid/Ask prices and sets his own price based on these 3. Usually Bid <= Last <= Ask, but this isn't always the case. While developing my own RT system I made the following...

    Daytrading 1M

The reason for 1M trading for the backtesting is that results of trading 1M should be statistically more significant than trading smaller amounts. Ie. it is usually harder to make higher profits with big money than with small money. The more the capital the less the % performance and vice...

NASDAQ is king, NYSE is dead

Both L1 and L2 is there, but what they show is delayed and mostly only a snapshot. I guess they are updating them only when the specialists finds time for it...

NASDAQ is king, NYSE is dead

I forgot to add "for me". Because I made some backtests and the NAZ stocks give more profit. The other reason is with the not so easy availability of NYSE quotes (delayed), and practically no accurate L2 data. So, for me NYSE is indeed "dead".

NASDAQ is king, NYSE is dead

I think NYSE will collapse because of the rebellion of the specialists and MM against modernization of the NYSE.

1 min Snapshot data of all US stocks

Where could I get the current price data (at least Last,Hi,Lo,Vol) of all listed US stocks (about 7000) as fast as possible? The prices should be not older than 1 minutes. I tried Yahoo, but the NYSE stocks are too much delayed (and IMHO at NYSE these days some big data manipulations are going...

    Daytrading 1M

This would mean a DD of about 10 to 20%, right? Isn't that usually typical for long term trading? Wouldn't active daytrading (ie. holding no positions overnight) help cut this down to say just 1/3 or 1/4 of that?

    Daytrading 1M

Say, the initial 1M money is that of a prop firm (or a fund to manage). Only the best trader/manager who demonstrates how to make the highest profit will say get a 5 yr contract with very good conditions for a top job at the prop firm. The task is profit maximizing and risk minimizing by using...

    Daytrading 1M

Imagine you have a trading account of size 1M. As a daytrader how much % do you think you can make of it in a year?

I have never seen a better trader than

MrMarket, you posted a tradelist, fine. But the question remains: is the list complete of all your trades? Imagine this: if I buy just a handful shares of all of the about 7500 US stocks once every 2 weeks or so then of course I can say that there were x which made more than 15%, and of course...

    Free trade?

The commission rate of Freetrade (www.freetrade.com) and an API like TWS or myTrack... That would be like easter and christmas at the same time... :-) Is Freetrade real or is it only a marketing trick of Ameritrade?

    Holy sh*t!

Such frauds are possible only because there is no law which says that such economic numbers for the public have to be made public only during market hours, not before or after market. Also, all earning reports must be made public only during regular market hours.

Trading with Five Hundred Thousand Dollars

To the original poster: you need to backtest your stragety with different and realistic parameters, and then chose the best setup. As a rule of thumb (maybe even the optimum for positionsizing): spread your total capital (and your risk) over at least 5 positions. But limit each position...

What is your net Profit/Loss this year

Doesn't it heavily depend on how much one trades, ie. acct size? For a little guy 500k could maybe mean 1000% whereas for a big guy maybe only 10% ... :-)
