    Anyone use my method?

nopm: You mentioned that ADX has to be above 30 (in addition to your other conditions) to take the trade. Do you think if it matters if the ADX goes from 20 to 30 or from 40 to 30. Which do you think is more powerful: declining ADX or rising ADX. Thanks for the journal.

    Doublea's Trading Strategies Part II

Yesterday Nasdaq and Russell were down more than 1% but the Dow and S&P weren't down as much. Today I was looking for Nasdaq and Russell to drag Dow and S&P down with them but it did not happen. Since the last rally we haven't had a 1% true selling day in Dow, S&P and Nasdaq on the same day...

    Checklist for Succes

Add another one. Pay attention to details. For example, it is spelled 'success' not 'succes'. Why don't you put it all in 1 journal? There is no need to start a new thread everytime you have a vision.

Market Profile, Calculate POC (mode) in Excel

Here you go!!! This is a basic way to do it without writing a macro. I inserted the volume right before Open and used a lookup function. Pretty basic but that's what you'll need to do too. Make sure you have the look-up wizard checked. Tools---Add-In---Lookup Wizard

    S&P looks very Toppy--- Doublea

Not to confuse with Rubberbird's previous threads, but the S&P looks very toppy here. I would still not short here but will definately get out of my longs. If there is a 1% true selling day, I'll look for a shorting opportunity.

    the basic flaws in TA

Many traders and gurus think that the 200 dma works as a major support or a resistance. So say price is above the 200 dma and someone who is short will look for an opportunity to take profits near the 200 dma, on the other hand there are other people who want to initiate long positions near the...

Yield Curve more or less flat

The effect of the flattening of the yield curve will be seen in financials before other sectors. In this case it will be more prudent to short financials(XLF) and long (SPY) in an appropriate ratio as per your risk. If the trade moves in your favour and the yield curve starts inverting, it makes...

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

Put a chart on the wall and ask an eight year old if he/she thinks it is going up , down or nowhere. You'll know the trend. If it was good for PTJ, it's good for me.

    Doublea's Trading Strategies Part II

The initial stop should be 1pt. above 5 day high/low. So in the above example if the 5 day low was at 1200 then the stop will be at 1199. I will post charts this time to make it easier to follow. Thanks.
