Personally I believe any vendor should be able to produce their trading blotters (actual trading records) to be credible. If all they're doing is talking without PROOF (eg IB statement screencaps etc) of their personal trading success, then I'd avoid them. That's my 'show me the money'...

Exactly. Trading has a lot in common with gambling, but unlike casino gaming, you can and should trade when the odds are in your favor based on tape reading and chart and candle patterns. So unlike gambling, it's possible to do very well over the long term with trading, if you "get it"...

I really hope this doesn't happen, it would harm individual traders. And they're targeting "speculators" -- what's wrong with speculation? This would damage everyone who wants to day and swing trade. It's the "anti active traders tax". Fight it with all power. -k

Great point - I'm happy to trade 1k shares and take .20 out of it; over and over again; a .25% tax on each side would kill day trading as we know it. At least it's just talk for now, by non-policy makers, an isolated incident, but it goes to show how the "grab rich folks' money and give it...

Looks like RMBS has sold down from an open of 18.5 area to 11.88 here, wow. -34% drop today. Am buying in here, looking for potential bounces. We'll see.

Hi - I've found for myself over the years that I tend to limit my share size in trades to no more than 1K shares/trade... often 100-300 shares is the average size. But then I realize that on a good day, my best profit is then limited to 3-4K, and many days less than that. I can make more...
