    No reason Dow can't break out to new highs today. Earnings great, gas prices who cares and no more hurricanes!!!! Actually though hurricanes are good for stocks? I am really not sure now. Buying is the only way to go.

    I do not think the economic picture is all that great into end of year purely on the effect of energy prices. Maybe theres the idea that a rising stock market will increase consumer spending even with $3 gas???

    If you look at the Dow since July when it was going lower there were 2 pops, the UK terror run which was 4 sizable up days then lots of struggle with no new upside. Then comes the Katrina pop, 3 decent up days then more what I see as distribution turning to weakness. How weak I do not know...

    Midnight rally

    They must be back at work. Its an important day what with options expiry and the market being weak , a rally is really needed. Hopefully this will create enough buying to keep us green all day!
