25k per ES contract should be enough margin to survive a 9/11 type deal, this allows for 500 ES points against you. This should be plenty. You can also allocate a small % of your gains towards options to hedge.

I am with stock777 here, these guys are hilarious. There is very little difference in a 3k account vs 6k it's small player cash and it's that simple. That being said if you haven't already demo'd try it out.. if you can make money in demo then take that 3k live. If you lose it oh well good thing...

With Contract Limitations in the ES how can anyone dominate?

ES usually has sufficient bid/ask volume to fill 100 lots at mkt with no slippage. I don't see any issue here? Just try it out, if it doesn't work for you then you know first hand. Simple.

Usually people trying to juggle a day job and trading do the ES at night. I have found a few very good moves during the Asia open (usually good for 4 to 8ticks). Otherwise you may have to hold a position for 3+ hours, whereas the same trade during reg hours could be done in 3 minutes. TT
