rtharp, or anyone else for that matter...how do you manage 10 or more fills? are you trading off the P&L mostly while tape reading a couple of others that are moving against you, or do you flip through quickly to get a quick feel, and/or do you put in stops...thanks.

use ARCA if you want to route to CHX, NASD, ISLD, OR PACIFIC (aka ARCA). often, they will be inside the NYSE quote and you can get a better price, or some over eager trader will take your offer when they shouldn't. since a thread started on redi+, i'll take the opportunity to ask a question...

the part on the tradeoff of higher commissions for not having capital is accurate, for the most part...worldco is probably the exception, since they can offer rates as low as anybody else. note: i do not work for them.

you would not be able to get in as a trainee to be a remote trader - it's available for those that have a track record. additionally, you need to make a multi-year commitment to become a trainee. why would they let you come in and lose money, then once you become profitable leave for a better...

gene....you're probably right. i trade at ETG, put no money down, and i know the guy next to me trades options on occassion. he's been here a while though.

you can trade options at ETG. they do not require any money down either, though you must apply.

what number should be used for fair value - cnb'c or programtrading.com's?? they are considerably different. for example, today programtrading.com's is +0.78, while CNBC's -2.87. sometimes the difference is 6 or 7 points - a huge difference. you can get both at the following link...

netted about a point on 11 fills. will start increasing my size again. should've held WMT longer. i waited a while for it to come back and pared the loss, but especially since i had a cushion and the market was strong, i should've pulled a don move and held.

"no emotion or angst involved" yeah, it's a beautiful, never lose mechanical strategy that will pave the way to financial freedom - the holy grail. whatever, it's an edge and that's it. do you hold when it gaps againt you half a point and look to get out even, or maybe a profit...

broke even this morning, losing 15 cents on TXN as well. i'm not giving up on this strategy. i know there's an edge there and just have to get used to it a little.

don, would you mind saying which stocks you made money in? just trying to get a feel for how much pain you are willing to take with this.

don't feel bad. i lost on 9 out of 10 longs. i had tight 5-10 cent stops. slippage?. well, 60 cents, 35 cents, 20, cents, 20 cents. nice. for the second time in two weeks, this strategy alone has set record 1 day losses for me. who knows, i could get fired this month.

having a bias is not something to embrace, it is something that you should work to correct.

thansk chasinfla.... i've done that, but i was thinking more along the lines of the very same specialist, not just the same firm. like specialist at say post 7 handles abc, xyx, etc....someone once said you could get that off the nyse website, but i haven't been able to find anything like that.

nylord...or anyone else...could you please tell me where you can find out which specialist handles which stocks? i hunted around the nyse website but couldn't find anything. thanks for any help
