    multichart vs amibroker ?

Is there anyone here who have actually used Amibroker for live trading? I have a licence and like it for backtesting. However, when it comes to live trading Im not so sure. I will run in total about 75 strategies on different timeframes and different markets - futures and stocks. Not sure how...

    Non-display fees

Yes, but I believe this is per firm/customer?

    Non-display fees

Thanks again, that was good news. I prefer having MD quotes of course (I'm using Sterling), but as it is now I don't know how much it will cost to subscribe to MD from 1st December. Is this the new version 10 allowing API for using no data?

    Non-display fees

Thanks again Robert for your help:) I can manage by using delayed data quotes, but I need API for sending orders. Seems like I still have a problem because I use API for sending. Unless my software can allow for sending API without pulling market data, I will still face problems.

    Non-display fees

Thanks Robert. If I understand this correctly it seems every firm is one customer. For example WTS is one customer? If they have 50 traders needing level1 quotes the costs will be divided on 50? Anyway, this news is actually worse than i initially thought.

    Non-display fees

I have skimmed through all the posts here quickly. If I understand this fuzz about non display: this applies only to NYSE-listed stocks, not Nasdaq stocks? If I trade only Nasdaq stocks I can still use API with no extra fees? Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I couldn't find any...

Trading via own remote company in a no-tax-country

Thanks for info, I didn't know you were Estonian. I believe filing is much easier than i Latvia, where it's very buraucratic. And who knows for how long the Latvian system will stay. I need an accountant to do all my filing here. As of now you can even have an offshore UAE company and pay no...

Trading via own remote company in a no-tax-country

Yes, correct about Estonia. If you can pay no taxes at company level then you can compound a lot by just letting money stay in company. Do you have any idea how much it costs to run an Estonian company? It's an alternative for me. About Latvia there is no withholding taxes to non resident...

Trading via own remote company in a no-tax-country

Latvia (and Estonia?) does not tax income from dividends and stocks if incorporated. Mentioning this in case you don't know, and both are EU countries.

Best Country for Trading (Tax efficiency)

Eastern Europe still has a lot of opportunities. Latvia, for example, has no taxes on stock and dividend income in a corporation. You can make a zillion trades and still no taxes. You might have to pay yourself a minimum salary once in a while, though. And dividends is only 10% to a fysical...

Interactive Brokers and registration of shares

Thank you very much, Freedinner. Most people are careless and never ask questions or investigate anything. I don't know why, they probably expect to be bailed out by any g'ment agency no matter what? Esspecially here in Europe where welfare and gov't spending is much higher. I certainly don't...

Interactive Brokers and registration of shares

Thanks for link. Excess SIPC capped at 150 m firmwide seems very little to me. Do you have any options as where to bring my business? I'm not risking my money above SIPC insurance. Hell, I don't know if I trust SIPC either...

Interactive Brokers and registration of shares

Hi, I asked helpdesk, and they said no. They say each customer is insured in Lloyds up to 30 mill. Still, for me it's unbelieveable that owners are not registered in a share register. I'm from Norway, and here all trades are registered in a private owned register. All trades are electronic...

Interactive Brokers and registration of shares

I have had an account in IB for many years. However, I plan to transfer more money and will surpass the insurance limit (500 000) by a wide margin. As far as I know IB does not register share ownership in my name, but instead using "Street name registration". Put shortly, If I buy MSFT the...

Niederhoffer thinks "follow the trend" sucks

Where did I write that I have not tested "everything"? Since 2000 I have tested a zillion strategies: any timeframe there is, be it 1 minute to 25 years, trend or mean reverting. What works best is relative short term strategies with a good edge and turn it over as many times as possible...
