Looks like you already have your answer.

    Psychology behind Chart patterns?

Brooks but it's a real slog and many think he's full of it. I've found his reasons for price movement very helpful even if it isn't accurate. If you go down that path I'd recommend using logseq or something similar to tag/store your charts for review.

Entering on large impulsive candles preceded by a pullback with smaller candles

I prefer to look for any good rational reason to enter with the current trend and chase strong breakouts/fade weak ones. My definitions are loose and subjective. I'm still guilty of trying to scalp countertrend too much and get burned for it (working on it). Agreed, that's why I tend to...

Entering on large impulsive candles preceded by a pullback with smaller candles

Based on the visual you posted, that would've been a late entry. Context matters because you can't trade everything as a successful breakout/trend. We can't see to the left and only have the slope of the ema, but if it was trending before that consolidation odds were higher that bear move was a...

Entering on large impulsive candles preceded by a pullback with smaller candles

Context and probabilities matter more than just a pattern by itself. If you always wait for that many bars to develop before placing trades you're going to be entering when others are taking profits/looking to fade.

What can you tell me about Oustide Days

It's a trading range on a smaller timeframe where there was a failed BO attempt. If there isn't follow-thru and you get an inside bar after it you can trade the BO/failed BO for at least a 1:1.

    Fibs don't work

Did you back test using them as an indicator to buy/sell random retracements/extensions, or use them more as a measurement aid within your trading plan? For example, did price get rejected at a fib level on a retracement where countertrend traders were likely to take profit? Trade it. Did price...

If you say so, but the OP started this thread talking about interesting ideas Brooks has for scalping. That is one of them.

To you. A failed failure is just a breakout pullback. If the breakout pullback doesn't have follow-thru and then fails...that's 3 failures. On a smaller timeframe that's a double top/bottom. Some call that a micro-DT on the chart being traded.

Journal from a lurker who just made his first post on ET

A test of the prior extreme is always plausible, but the bull response to that break of the trendline & 4 bear bars closing on their lows was weak. You can use those gaps as an additional gauge of strength.

While you're trading MES keep an eye on what happens at/after the 1:1 for both long/short entry signals.

Prove to me that Technical Analysis Works.

The trend line broke with good momentum and price tested the tight opening range that had lots of overlapping bars with wicks (that also opened at the prior days close; a magnet). It was the next target after the prior days high/beginning of the channel.

Agreed, but that's also where context & risk allowance come into play. Trading bigger size to scalp part and swing the rest (in the right context) helps a ton.
