Okay lets have a good laugh, I posted two tickets at IB here are the responses from operator one, Yes, the Settlement price was incorrect. Our appropriate department is aware of this issue and will correct it soon. We apologized for this. from operator two, I cannot detect any...

    Beware! Print out your statements

I was looking for the code that said Ex. Could not find it so I thought they had changed the statement. Turns out Korean stuff is in the dark ages, it was under cash activity with the actual words assignment and exercise. It doesn't even mention which option! They then closed out the futures...

    Beware! Print out your statements

Update time, I am satisfied, IB does not update statements retrospectively. Huge sigh of relief!!:D Seems the Korean options are done differently to those traded in America.

    Beware! Print out your statements

DEF See Benign response above. Any good accounting system will not allow anyone to edit entries retrospectively. Only allow them make correct entry's, thus preserving the audit trail. I am not suggesting IB is crooked, evil etc. But it scares me because of what benign says, if I...

    Beware! Print out your statements

So far no reply. But on a different thread DEF of IB basically implies that IB does change statements retrospectively, in complete contrast to what DAV has said above! Quote from DEF, in thread How familiar is this from IB "don't: obviously we rec'd or input a bad settlement price which...

How familiar is this at IB

I generally don't have a problem with IB. But if they do not give me a reasonable explanation for changing my statement after it has been published. And for stuffing up the settlement. Then they me be too cheap for me. I have had bad service from a broker before, believe me it always ends...

How familiar is this at IB

I've been an IB client for a while, but lately its no end of hassles. The last thing they did was stuff up a cash settlement on a futures close out, they admitted to the mistake(only after I pointed it out though) (weird how the mistakes are always in their favour no?. Then the next thing I...

    Beware! Print out your statements

Hi Dav I have, the normally take a few days to get back to me. I should mention this is the future on the KOSPI I have had trouble with the cash settlement on this contract before. I'll post here what I hear.

    Beware! Print out your statements

IB has an annoying habit of changing the statement retrospectively. I complained about a bad CASH settlement price they used 233.45 instead of 233.86 a difference of USD200 per futures contract. Next thing I know my original statement does not have the original entries. A later statement...

    Why would IB do this?

keeping it polite! IB has just informed me that I am right and there settlement department is correcting it. So go and shove it!
  17. D

    Why would IB do this?

Yeah, and it says quite clearly settlement method for the futures is CASH! So why did they use the last trade price of the futures instead of the closing of the Index which they used for the options? Basically they used 233.86 to cash settle the options. But bought back the short...

    Why would IB do this?

I must be retarded not seeing anything about settlement method? Should also mention the options settled at 233.86 no comm?

    Why would IB do this?

I had a Long KOSPI 200 Futures position going into the expiry yesterday. The futures closed at 233.45. The official Index close was 233.86. The futures are cash settled. My statement today reads, Sell future at 233.45 and wait for it they charge me KRW5 000 for the privilege...
