They can bust trades. Go to http://www.iseoptions.com/download/rules.pdf Rule 720 (Obvious errors) I believe 50 cents is the approximate cutoff. However, the ISE has a pending rule that reduces it to 25 cents for options under $3.00...

    What the %#*& ?!

massive spike?? The market has been so dead the last few days, I'll welcome any kind of movement. The summer doldrums are here. There was a time not too long ago that would produce a dozen of those type moves every day, without any news............(the good old days)

4:1 went into affect today. IB still lists an "Overnight Margin" but doesn't use it.

No, I have not seen anything in writing in terms of an actual rule proposal. But I was told a few months ago that the Exchanges were considering treating "certain customers" as broker dealers which would shut them out at some Exchanges.

    Adlae

ADLAE was halted by Nasdaq two days ago. It is not expected to re open today. Does anyone know if the stock is currently trading somewhere? I have an option position that expires today, and I'm 99% sure I know what I'm going to do but any additional would help. thanks.

Bid/Ask exchanges in TWS for stocks

I believe it is a limitation. You could make the suggestion that IB adds this feature. It certainly will help if you only have the BEST quote up for NYSE stocks.

no problems here - IB matching RT - tick for tick You should look into why this is happening.

    IB Quote Problems

well, I only got sooooooooo defensive when an individual stated that "IB quotes normally lag behind RealTick quotes about 1 to 3 seconds." which they don't IMO, as I have stated before, IB's quotes are as good as any "retail data provider". Yes, they have issues but so do all...

    IB Quote Problems

Well, firstly I don't believe this is the case at IB during "normal" market conditions. and you can test this by entering an order from your backup broker, which I have and you will once again see the quotes ARE reliable. IB has no idea that you entered an order via your backup broker thus...

    IB Quote Problems

a potential problem for NYSE stocks is that IB does not include some of the regional Exchanges and your level II quotes include all Exchanges. IB does not include them because they don't route to certain exchanges. Not sure if this makes a differance to some??

    IB Quote Problems

So, are you saying that IB only updates quotes in "real time" when you send orders on that security? Or is it just a coincidence that I'm constantly looking at the one right quote out of a 1,000 when I'm testing??

    IB Quote Problems

There are 22 pages because IB did have issues with their quotes a couple of months back. This on again off again problem lasted for about a month. Currently, as far as I'm concerned there is NO problem. But at the same time, one should always have a backup source. I use two backup feeds (TAL...

    IB Quote Problems

Are you suggesting that IB doesn't "solely" get their quotes from the individual Exchanges?? (That they combine Exchange data with quotes of live ordes that you send) if so, talk about being paranoid................... If I enter a limit order to buy 155 shares of XYZ at $44.50 at time...

    IB Quote Problems

When were they five seconds behind? (around 2:30 to 2:45 EST) I have no idea if IB was having NYSE problems yesterday. If you think your quotes are "normally" one second behind I would suggest that you have a unique problem and should seek help. Anytime you think the quotes are late then...

    IB Quote Problems

Your comments about their quotes are untrue. Do you have any idea what would happen if their quotes were "normally" 1-3 seconds behind? An active stock's quote will change 95% of the time in 1-3 second intervals. That would mean that 95% of the time you enter marketable orders you would...

    IB Quote Problems

here is some advice: When you notice that quotes are crossed or appear to be incorrect. Put up all the ECN's for a stock and then pinpoint which ECN is causing the problems. It is easy to identify, then simply ignore that route (ie. Redibook today).
