    Starting a hedge fund

There is plenty of free information out there. B of A used to hold free "conferences" where attorneys and CPA's gave the run down on how to get started. Attorney's are more than happy to talk to you for free about formation, etc. if they are under the impression that you're shopping for legal...

    Dell 'Support'

I have 3 Dells too. Recently dropped my laptop. It took me a whole month to get it fixed plus about 20 hours (or more) on the phone with customer service...but the warranty covered the entire computer: new motherboard, LCD, hard drive, CD ROM drive, keyboard, casing.....yes it was a pain, but...

TS code help - scaling out of position

I think this will work, so let me know if it doesn't. If you know the contract size, this should be easy. Let's say you're using the ES ($50). This would equate to a 10 pt move from the entry price. Easylanguage would be something like: inputs: tradesize(4); If Barssinceentry>0 and...

    Better Paper: WSJ or IBD?

Actually, going back to the original question...I fully agree with the posters here that say that you should just watch the market. To be honest, if you are trading lots of stocks, just scrolling through several hundred charts an evening, will give you a much better feel for the market than...

    Better Paper: WSJ or IBD?

Aaron, To be quite honest, I guess it only helps my trading tangentially. I traded for a long time without it which was fine. Since I primarily swing trade stocks, it gives me an idea of where people's emotions are running (where deals are happening, etc). E.g., I got a call from a friend...

    Better Paper: WSJ or IBD?

Get both, but take the WSJ.com subscription (Barron's included) for $6 or so a month. I like it better than the paper and IMO is definitely worth it for the low cost. IBD's online subscription is much more expensive, and you might as well get the paper.

Who wants to be a Billionaire?

Another very successful manager told me that if you can make 12% a year with a low std deviation the money will find you. OPM is the key.

Should we have targets in swing trading?

These are questions I struggle with all the time. I've tried to test different scenarios on tradestation: take profits, take 1/2 profits, trail stops and still have nothing conclusive. Many times the results are very similar. Anyhow, would be interested on others thoughts here. Obviously, a...
