    Traders' Commitments (from Barron's)...

If you were to do this, you would want to divide the net e-mini position by 5 since each e-mini contract is worth 1/5 the dollar value of the large one.

    Traders' Commitments (from Barron's)...

But also note that 3/28/03 was the first time since the year 2000 that the Commercials in the large S&P contract were net long. And they have stayed that way for the last 6 reports. Anyone have any insights into why the Commercials in the large contract and those in the e-mini are leaning so...

    Windows update cause slowdown?

There was a patch, Q811493, that caused performance problems on XP systems with Service Pack SP1 installed. It was in the news about a week ago. You can search for more info on it at support.microsoft.com. They say that you can de-install it from Add / Remove Programs, if necessary.

    Livermore 1940 First Edition

Every field has its great, original thinkers. It turns out that many of them are flawed in other parts of their lives. Those that are in the same field or industry don't worry about that when judging their work or contributions.

    Livermore 1940 First Edition

That makes sense. The site www.turtletrader.com - as pointed out by Babak - is implying that the text is fundamentally different. Obviously the original has great historical value. But I read the Traders Press 1991 publication (no Richard Smitten involved) and the content had the feel...

    Livermore 1940 First Edition

Does anyone have any idea what's different about the Trader Press "originally published in 1940" edition and the REAL 1940 edition? Or why Trader's Press supposedly did not reprint the original edition?

Globex destroys its credibility and good will

With the growing popularity of the e-minis, I doubt they think they need to make any concessions. On the contrary, the CME just increased the monthly exchange fee from $10 to $15 on April 1, 2003!

Conspiracy Theory why Globex Halted (qdz5 listen up!)

I'll be astounded if this is what gets the Dow through the 8520-8560 resistance.

Conspiracy Theory why Globex Halted (qdz5 listen up!)

It's good for the CBOT, as e-mini traders may go there to trade the mini Dow in the meantime.

who saw the sell program hit

Never mind. Apparently it's a Globex problem.

who saw the sell program hit

The e-mini just went to sleep at 11:15. Very low volume, even for this time of day.

    IB order entry frozen??

I noticed that there was no Bulletin that Globex was available again until 11:16, whereas Help / System Staus said that all systems were functioning normally as of 11:09.

Best Esignal data choice for U.S. mini futures only?

I am only looking to trade the CME and CBOT mini futures. I also need to see realtime indices and market internals including the SPX, NDX, BKX, SOX, TNX, XAU, VIX, TRIN, and TICK. The final requirement is to have the Advanced Charting capability. When I check the Esignal product selection...

    signalwatch.com

I am from the school of thought that a courteous reply to a prospective customer might lead to a new customer. Some vendors might even be very responsive until they make the sale or get the subscription, but then less responsive afterwards. In my opinion, those that don't reply at all (not...

    Sec Fees

I remember reading articles months ago that said that the fees being collected then were much more than the SEC budget and that the surplus was being diverted elsewhere.

    most liquid market for futures?

I just came across a very interesting article on worldwide liquidity trends. I am unsure of the ramifications of cutting and pasting an entire article, so I'll just post the link: http://www.futuresindustry.org/fimagazi-1929.asp?a=829

    Spy X - Div

From my observations, the adjustment is already reflected in the open on the ex-dividend day. But this brings me back to an earlier question I posed in this thread: if the S&P futures and cash were to open flat that day, and SPY now gaps down because it is ex-dividend, how should I best...
