Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I guess: H = Hold W = Wait B = Buy So to know when to hold a position (when it goes against you or how long to hold on to a winner); when to stay out the market; and when to take action.

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

A little off topic, but J_Smith asked me to post a simple trade. So 2 shorts from AUDUSD, based on a double top and pinbar halfway the swing. The stops would be just above the setups.

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Edit: J_Smith: "No, it is a very simple method that is applicable to any timeframe" Hmm.. so I'm on the wrong track...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I think what's missing is a bigger timeframe to establish these mysterious levels... I studied the 30 and 60 min. from yesterday. I can't figure out the 60 min.; the 30 min. does make some sense to me regarding these lines...

    Yukoner's 2015 Psychological Journal

Deep respect for you Handle123, to go through all this and still have energy to post and to trade successful. Whenever I will be complaining and moaning about trivial things, I'll try to remember you! I wish you the best of luck!

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Hi Redneck, Are you referring to Market Makers / Brokers (hunting stops) and Big Players (transferring large numbers of shares)? Should we look at volume? Thank you.

    First time in the Flow…

Well, the fun didn't last forever, as you might have guessed... I guess I owe everyone an update :) My strategy was based on scalping out 2/3 of my position. So the tension if a trade works or not, lasted only brief. The rest was used for a swing. That forced me to stay alert, but...

    First time in the Flow…

Thank you, Sir! Your words have been a great inspiration over the last years. Maybe it's finally paying off :) I get your point, only I think that I'm not ready for it. I just can't believe that I will ever achieve this level. I trade on and off, due to my burnout. I have to be very...

    First time in the Flow…

Thanks Oldtime, The same thing crossed my mind. I've read in Market Wizards that the big guys really push when they're in a winning streak, but also that their worst drawdowns would occur after they thought the golden touch would last forever... I stopped at two times my normal weekly...

    First time in the Flow…

Thanks Daring, It was trending in those weeks, so you may be right there... I have to wait for more uncertainty in direction and low volatility. If I survive that, well... :)

    First time in the Flow…

Balancing for months on the edge of profitability, I experienced something strange for the last two weeks. I had many successful trades that didn't seem to cost me much stress or uncertainty. Instead of enjoying the process, I went paper trading after three days, fearing that this couldn't...

How to Avoid Getting Whipsawed in Chop?

Hi Macattack, The problem is that this huge spike evolved quickly into a tight Trading Range. That means chop / retraces / bad place for stop entries / failed breakouts. 1. Your entry is almost at the top. You might had entered with a buy limit at the EMA and hope for just a move up to the...

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

Hi Xspurt, Do you mean that this is a 3 tick chart and there's a double bottom with big selling volume? (first arrow) How did you choose your second entry (2e arrow)? A few bars before, there was also buying pressure. Or was it the combination of big selling and suddenly big buying...
