I understand I could be late with the play, but I'm not sure I have the expertise yet to get the reversal before it happens all the time. It's just one of many signals in my arsenal. I'm not sure what you mean completely on the rest. Are you suggesting a trend-following strategy in which...

    Greg's Forex Journal

Today I finally found out what the 3BR is. I finally found a good chart image describing it in a thread which made me think it was just market structure, but then I also got lucky when someone posted an image of it in the thread in which I asked for a source on it (titled “Any sources for...

Any sources for learning about the 3BR?

Thanks for clearing this up for me, Tums :) That was all I needed. Happy Holidays.

Working today because the family has left and everyone is asleep. I have decided to unsubscribe to all my threads on ET that weren’t serving any purpose. The ones left are this thread, two asking about advanced PA and TA, one asking about the 3BR pattern, and one that I am just finishing up...

Can anyone reflect on taking college psychology or behavioral finance for trading?

I think we're actually agreeing on many things. I wrote an essay on the subject, actually. I think that, within the mind, true knowledge is unattainable, so no there are no real conclusions outside maybe math. I think (very brief summary of my essay) that there are three levels of...

Can anyone reflect on taking college psychology or behavioral finance for trading?

Very intriguing, Jack, and I'm glad I decided to come back. It will take me another read or two to understand everything in the document, but there are a couple very key things I picked up on: Iterative refinement threads: I have them bookmarked but have not gotten a chance to read them yet...

Can anyone reflect on taking college psychology or behavioral finance for trading?

I believe that if you are mentally fragile enough to be wholly persuaded and "believe" the entire works of any philosopher, you would have problems trading. Trading needs a strong, malleable mind that can look at things from several viewpoints, and the wise man in general would never wholly...

Can anyone reflect on taking college psychology or behavioral finance for trading?

Lol agree to disagree, Stefan. I do think that philosophy is very important though, and I will take more classes.

    Greg's Forex Journal

I lied I couldn’t stay away today; I finished doing Christmas stuff early and ended up dabbling on ET and watching my screensaver to the point at which I was seeing the same images for the third time and was rarely getting a new one. So, I decided to do some little work. I read a chapter or...

Can anyone reflect on taking college psychology or behavioral finance for trading?

I agree completely. College serves as my backup plan, and I'm sure I will learn some things in investment finance I can use for one thing or another. :)

Can anyone reflect on taking college psychology or behavioral finance for trading?

Very interesting post and study, Jack. Several traders talk to me about having this feel of inference for the market, and it is something I hope I may some day be able to have as well. I would like to ask you about what you know or believe to be the nature of inference and its attainment (I...

    Characteristics of a Successful Trader

Hi Eric, I have a qualifications I'd like to make while I'm thinking about them. I haven't read the whole thread yet however, so feel free to respond to what's applicable. I took some of this idea from Jack Hershey in one of my threads, but it is an idea I have been practicing myself...

    12/23/08 - GBP/USD Triple Bottom

I agree with Inow. You shouldn't change your trading analysis just because someone posts "no". If you aren't confident enough in your play you shouldn't trade it. What you are saying is very different, PaulRon.

Can anyone reflect on taking college psychology or behavioral finance for trading?

Thanks for the book recommendation, psytrade! :) It is on my list of books to read when I trade enough money to afford it, haha. I'm looking forward to hearing an example, Stefan; I don't think philosophy can legitimately come to a conclusion.

Decided to start making a list of rule-based bar setups that I can start trading as long as they have good R:Rs and fit in with at least some sort of sense of direction. Also decided to time my screensaver to see how fast things went – ended up going solidly through 50 images in almost...

Can anyone reflect on taking college psychology or behavioral finance for trading?

Sorry I haven't been here. Great post, Jack. I believe I am surpassing the listening and accepting stages and trying simple rule-based strategies in my trading to begin developing trust. It's easy to theoretically justify things that are not provable or not provable at the time. That's...

Any sources for learning about the 3BR?

Thanks Mark. I've been through the original Price Action journal, which is where I found it but couldn't really figure out what it was exactly from it. I will begin this thread when I have the time.

Any sources for learning about the 3BR?

I just went through it and saw the 3LPB, a collection of 3-bar group patterns, and the 2B; so no 3br unless it is one of the 3 bar patterns, maybe?
