    awesome, the best trading day this year

    Totally agree....best day of the year. But how were able to short JASO....my broker told me it was on the "Threshhold" list and absolutely cannot be borrowed to short?

    Crox=Massive manipulation

    The day after its earnings last week you were recommending CROX in the mid-50s (I've excerpted your post from another thread below) stock_trad3r Registered: Jun 2006 Posts: 4447 11-01-07 10:08 AM CROX had great numbers. Own no position, but I would recommend buying at...

    CROX, RIMM and other bubbles

    A 30%+ selloff DOES indicate a top, at least in the short or intermediate term. CROX is going into SHOWME mode, just like HANS did last year, where it will have to prove to momentum investors/traders that it deserves their time and $$$

    Crox=Massive manipulation

    How is this market manipulation? This is the way momentum stocks react once they lose their mojo. CROX had beaten estimates by a mile and then raised guidance for the last three quarters. When they failed to do that today, all the momentum guys got out. Just the way the stock market works...

    GRMN-why is she down & not up today?

    These guys have entered a multi-billion dollar bidding war for a mapping company. They are totally screwed.

    If oil is up why r my energy stocks down?

    Apparently the "smart" money feels the recent speculative surge in crude oil is not sustainable and they are using the day to take profits. If you look at today's EIA stats, there is certainly a dropoff in demand, so these crude prices are going up on pure spec. Also VLO is a refiner, and its...

    Trading while ill?

    You answered your own question (correctly). Unless you are feeling fit physcially AND emotionally...including having slept well, you have no business trading. This is one of my cardinal rules. The market swallows alive those foolish enough to brave it when their reaction times and reasoning...

    Mastercard?

    The last 3 quarters MA has beat by .34, .15, and .41 respectively. Today's beat was only .11. Since the stock has more than doubled the last year, people wanted to see a better BTE (better than expected) to justify continuing the run. Didn't get it so they are selling it off (today at least).

    Nobody should Lose Money this Week

    If you are HOLDING a position, certainly the risk is greater. But if you are trading in and out of positions, these wild moves sparked by the Vix are pure money.

    Nobody should Lose Money this Week

    I think WD40 should have titled his post..No Daytrader Should Lose Money This Week. For daytraders, this is without a doubt the best of trading times---rivaling those of the markets heyday when I started in 2000. With the Vix so high, this market is a pure ATM machine, minting money for anyone...

    Newsstrike Gone Fishin'?

    Perhaps we disgruntled "customers" could band together and demand a refund :mad:

    Newsstrike Gone Fishin'?

    Where are you located? This could be a regional thing, as no one else has complained. I am on the West Coast.

    Newsstrike Gone Fishin'?

    I haven't heard a peep out of newsstrike since last Friday afternoon. Have they gone away for the summer? Have any of the other 100 some odd people logged onto the channel now been hearing anything? Thx

    Newsstriike???

    Well , they've done it again today, but at least I heard them announce that the newsdesk would be down until 3 O'clock. Damn, that's a long lunch. Well, I guess you can't really complain about a free service. Also, does anyone know what the (R) vs. (u) means for logged in users?

    Anybody know what's happened to Newsstrike today. Haven't heard anything from them in over 2 hours.....

    NMS 612--Yeah Right....

    NMS 612 was supposed to have eliminated sub-penny orders several years ago. Yet I am constantly having people step in front of me with their .001s. Today, for example I am the only level 2 quote at 54.04 on KLAC with 100 lousy shares. Then someone joins me on ISLAND/NASDAQ with 1000 shares...

    which energy company most closely tracks Oil prices?

    Better yet, just trade the USO. This ETF reflecting the real-time trading price of oil had lousy volume and huge spreads until last month. Since then however, volume has more than tripled and the spreads have made entry and exits relatively painless.
