    Buy June Gold

Im more of a headline reader, meaning I dont really read the full article as to be biased. I found I am better off knowing there is news and letting the market tell me which way to go. Some of my biggest losses are when I have a strong (wrong) opinion on what should happen

    2011: Rebuilding My Battered Account

When I first started trading in 98-99 it was all dot-coms with options, got crushed many times on stupid plays off the open. I give you credit for your size plays but I think it would be interesting for you to backtest your bad plays in a longer time frame and see how it improves your P/L...

    Birth of a trader

NOD That was a great trade on the wedge break at 11:02 eastern. Perfect example of waiting for the break up or down with some bracket orders (OCO) like you did. If I set my chart up so the last candle I see is the 11:01 on a one minute chart, I would bet on a pop up toward the figure...

    Buy June Gold

That all makes sense. I just try and read the intraday candles because there is so much painting of the charts on daily gold charts. It seems the latest power moves have been to the upside and then quickly contained, thats what makes gold gold, totally different monster to trade IMO

the triangle between 10 and 11 eastern was a tough one I would have been looking long also, been stopped out and hopefully been back in long. In the heat of the moment I would have only seen a triangle (not desending) cause I dont have my t-lines on the extreme ticks

The Most "Risky" & "Boring" Futures to Daytrade are...

I agree with the OP as far as CL and SI offering good scalps. I have been trading the GLD for years and getting beat up in sliver, but last fall when the volumes really picked up in the SLV my silver trades have been better than my gold and I can really follow it quite well. Years ago it...

If you were going to short Silver, would you do it now (if not already broke) ?

SI (silver) .10 (ten cents) equals 500.00 usd GC (gold) 5.00 (five dollars) equals 500.00 usd CL (oil) .50 (fifty cents) equals 500.00

NOD Love your previous post, I never liked 1 minutes charts and would not recommend for new trader, but the more I watch the CL and posted trades the more I see the possible benefit. "Dont move until you see it" (movie Searching for bobby fischer)

DT, as far as market go, I watch the CL (oil) GC (gold) and the SI (silver) futures, but trade only gold and most recently silver

    Birth of a trader

Its not a good idea to try and scan two charts before you enter a daytrade. Believe me I tried with hundreds of others hear on ET, The best compromise for me, I use a 3 minute the first hour or so then a 5 for the rest of the day sometimes on very trendless day even a 8
  16. D

can you day trade without using TA?

When I was prop trading in 03-04 the best trader in the house used no charts at all. Only the open book (we traded mostly NYSE) He consistently made more money than the rest of us.
